I have always been a wensleydale and mature cheddar girl in the past but was bought a naice cheese board for christmas and thought I'd give them a go. Oh my god - they are delicious especially the blue stilton and the brie! What other cheeses should I try to continue my cheesey education?!!

MrsFlorrick · 05/01/2015 19:09

Reblochon de Savior
St Venier (not v stinky but soooo tasty).
Epoisse (mega stinky utterly addictive)
Pont L'eveque
Comte
Appenzeller
Badoz vacherin du haut. (The bestest and stinkiest you can get eva).

Montgomery cheddar
Morbier
I could go on and on and on.....

orangefusion · 05/01/2015 19:10

Roquefort

OuchLegoHurts · 05/01/2015 19:14

Gorgonzola or cambozola...creamy blue stickiness, mmmmm!

JackShit · 05/01/2015 19:15

YABU. Why would you want to eat something that smells like vomit Confused

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/01/2015 19:15

Saint Agur
Dolcelatte
Camembert - baked & served with fruit (e.g. Cranberry sauce)

OuchLegoHurts · 05/01/2015 19:15

Stinkiness not stickiness

ComfortingKormaBalls · 05/01/2015 19:16

Love a cheese board, heres what we have:

Garlic roule,
stilton
Brie
smoked applewood
wensleydale and cranberry
cheddar or the 5 slice layer cheese from the Tesco cheese counter

Ilovehamabeads · 05/01/2015 19:18

Blacksticks and Garstang Blue are both lovely stinky cheeses, local to the northwest. Delicious.

Marylou2 · 05/01/2015 19:22

Wow MrsFlorrick I'm adding your list to my New Years resolutions. Sounds amazing.

usualsuspect333 · 05/01/2015 19:22

Saint Agur.
Danish blue.

waitingfor3 · 05/01/2015 19:22

Stickleton (unpasteurised Stilton)
Blacksticks Blue
Knuckleduster

SinglePringle · 05/01/2015 19:23

A Camembert, left out of the fridge for a least 12 hrs is far far superior to a Brie. Heavenly.

differentkindofpenguin · 05/01/2015 19:23

I second blacksticks! But yes, sticky cheese is the shiz :)

agoodbook · 05/01/2015 19:24

Definitely Gorgonzola!
Always unpasteurised Cheddar ( eg Isle of Mull )
Vintage Gouda - (Old Amsterdam)
And totally different -Gjetost - its like caramac or am I showing my age with that :)
Vignotte

ithoughtofitfirst · 05/01/2015 19:24

Smells like vomit. Tastes like HEAVEN.

Hatespiders · 05/01/2015 19:25

Stop it you beasts! Stop it! This is torture! I've just been told by my GP that my vestibular migraines (extreme vertigo) are probably triggered by...stinky cheeses!! And...chocolate!! And they're my two favourite things of all time.

Sad Sad Sad

Clobbered · 05/01/2015 19:28

Stinking Bishop (yes really, it's divine!)
Another vote for Camembert - leaves Brie standing!

timeforacheckup · 05/01/2015 19:28

Wow! I'm going to work my way through every cheese mentioned.
Sorry hatespiders I should have put triggering!!!

agoodbook · 05/01/2015 19:29

Hatespiders you poor thing :(
not that I particularly like stinky cheeses as such, its just that good cheese is often stinky! -
I really didn't like Stinking Bishop - too much hype

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 05/01/2015 19:30

Snap, usual Grin I have been known to eat an entire wedge of St Agur in a single sitting.

Also Tomme de Savoie - not particularly stinky but so, so flavourful.

agoodbook · 05/01/2015 19:30

and time if you can, buy some quince jelly - goes amazingly well with cheese

Mumzy · 05/01/2015 19:31

If you're in or near London go to the Neals Yard Dairy in Borough Market and try amazing stinky cheeses. My favourite is St Judes

waitingfor3 · 05/01/2015 19:33

(You can get gjetost at my local market it is so sweet!)
