Spent silly amounts on a wallet for dh because he has been banging on about it for ages. It's for his birthday.
It's now on sale.
Would sending it back and buying it again be worth it? For the sake of £50?

Absolutely - far better £50 in your pocket rather than the retailers.

NK5BM3 · 05/01/2015 18:35

Yup!

Jumblebee · 05/01/2015 18:35

I would!

MakeMeWarmThisWinter · 05/01/2015 18:36

Of course! Depending on the retailer, some you can just ring them and explain what you're planning to do and they just refund you the difference.

IamTitanium · 05/01/2015 18:40

Hell yeah!

LittleMissDonkeyonADustyRoad · 05/01/2015 18:45

Depending where you bought it, I would buy the new one first, then send the other one back, as it's Sod's law it would be out of stock.

whattodoforthebest2 · 05/01/2015 18:46

Yes, the store may just refund the difference if you ask.

HappyAgainOneDay · 05/01/2015 18:48

Why not just return the one you bought 'because it turned out to be a duplicate present'? Get your money back and buy the one on sale. If you're too late for the one on sale, there'll be another one somewhere.

Evabeaversprotege · 05/01/2015 18:48

I bought dd a superset coat on 22nd December.

Came home, Dh informed me he qualified for discount on said shop (through his work).

I returned the coat that evening & DH went in after me & bought it, getting 15% discount.

So yes, I'd return it, making sure you get the full amount back though & not the sale price!

Kab13 · 05/01/2015 18:50

Now I just have to find the packaging to return it. Oh god I think I've thrown the label for the returns address away.

Buy the new one and sent it back pretending it's the old one? If you have time?

waithorse · 05/01/2015 20:29

How much was it, if it's now £50 less ? YANBU, I'd return and re buy the same.

crazykat · 05/01/2015 22:28

If you can't find the returns label you could phone them, say you want to return it for whatever reason but have lost the returns label, they'll usually email one for you to print or tell you the address etc that you need to send it back.

Or do as pp have said and tell them you want to return it as it's now in sale much cheaper so you plan to buy it again at the lower price, I'd be too chicken to do this though and return the original and red order it.
