AIBU to be disappointed that my local shoe shop is now a Shoe Zone?

It used to be a Lilley and Skinner years ago. It closed for refurbishment before Christmas and has now reopened - as a Shoe Zone.

I think their shoes are mainly cheap plastic tat

shoe zone suits me just fine for bargains, not everyone can afford the dearer end of the market or wants to buy from there anyway, leather shoes etc might be 'best' but as a vegan i don't want something from a dead animal wrapped around my feet, no gripe with others choices though, certainly not going to get sniffy about it.

My 6 year old sandals are Leather Birkenstock look-a likes and cost £24.99 in a sale I have never spent more than £35 on any footwear. It's not a 'snobbish' thing to lament the loss of a really good local shoe shop I had used for years.

I tried a (not very) scientific experiment of sorts with DS's school shoes for this year. Went to the independent shop back in September for some £49 school shoes and topped up with a similar styled £10 pair from Shoe Zone, with the intention of swapping them out every other day. and to be fair, dyspraxic DS has a way of losing everything, so doubles are always handy...

To make a long story short, guess which pair didn't quite survive until Christmas? Ah, go on...

Well, I've been on tenterhooks long enough. Which one was it? Grin
