Re Chuggington/Thomas the Tank Engine type ride-in toys for young children that you find outside morrisons and tesco etc. Is it okay to routinely let your kids climb in and pretend to drive for a bit but never cough up for an actual ride?

This reminds me of the time when on holiday and shopping at a different Tesco to ours, DS1, then aged 4, climbed onto a ride on car. Me and DH weren't looking at him as we were looking at some leaflets but I could see him out of the corner of my eye.

Suddenly an old man shouted "oi get off you little bugger!" We turned and saw that DS1 was sitting in the man's mobility scooter which he'd parked outside the shop.

We couldn't breathe for laughing, looking at DS's happy little face on this great holiday ride on car. Grin

My god I would be mortified if DD managed to climb inside somebody's mobility scooter without me noticing
