Been asleep next to me completely spark out for 30 minutes, go to stand up to make dinner and before I even fully stand she is wide awake and screaming... just HOW does she do that??

Someone tell me the days of not even being able to wee without the baby waking up and scream will be over soon??

Yup! Won't last long - feels like an ETERNITY at the time. It's really tough and very frustrating but honestly, it won't be like this forever.

My twins (now 7 months) decided the world was more interesting than me at about 12 weeks - so you're at least half way there.

In the meantime, can you get hold of a sling? Then you can hold her close while you make dinner / have a wee. You may even find time to brush your hair.

I had a Moby wrap; bit fiddly at first, but great once I got the hang of it. Ideally, baby should face you in a front carrier / sling as it's better for their hips. Lots are available secondhand (see group "babywearing for sale or trade" on facebook or "affordable baby slings for swap or sale".

Also, swaddling her for naps / dummies might ease the transition from your arms to cot / moses etc.

Ha my dd is doing just that at the moment and has done for the past 4 nights although she's teething really badly at the mo so is feeling pretty rubbish I guess.

Invaluable. I was able to cook, hang out laundry, hoover and breastfeed.

Been there. DH used to make me a packed lunch before he went to work so that I could eat!

Definitely a sling.

It will get better , my three year old told me tonight ''mummy please can you leave me alone now '' and it brought back memories of the child who couldn't bear for me to leave the room!

Slings are the answer! Check out the sling groups on Facebook and read the files for tips about getting started. It can be a daunting world at first.

By the time a baby gets to about 7-9 months sleep starts to be a bit longer and more regular. It seems like a while, but at 3-4 months when they can lift their head to look around, they'll start being more interested in their surroundings than with you and you'll be able to stick them in a baby bouncer to keep them entertained while you slip off for a snack or toilet break.

Can recommend a sling for when you need to get stuff done but also feel your pain... My LO struggles to nap during the day if he's not sleeping on me! Wakes up as soon as I put him down. To ensure he sleeps, I let him do it but I'm hoping he'll grow out of it!

I'm going go against the sling lovers. Neither of mine liked them and ROARED until they were old enough to hold their heads up properly and look around in a sling.

But they both liked a good snuggle. Someone on here told me once that it was the "please don't leave me under a bush/in a cave and go off with the other hunter/gatherers" thing.

I know it feels like forever, but it really isn't. And it will get better in just a few weeks. If this is DC1, can someone else make you dinner? If it's a subsequent DC then she might have to roar for a minute while you feed the others. I became extremely adept at feeding 16mo DD1 dinner while BF newborn DD2!

My DS was the same so I would transfer him tummy down onto a large pillow on the sofa which I tried to shape to my body. It did work.

I've a 3 week old and we can recommend slings!
Although if anyone's got any tips on how to stop her ripping my tits off via feeding and needle-claws I'd be very grateful! I've tried nibbling to trim them but it seems I'm just filing very sharp edges on to each nail...
