to think that B&Q are too ready to ban people from their stores?

I went to B&Q Chippenham yesterday to find out more details about one of their products and I end up being banned from the store. Absolutely outrageous Angry

Anyway, I suppose at least I did find out what I wanted to know - the toilets on display aren't actually plumbed in.

I'd write a strongly worded letter to your local rag if I were you.

nooyearnooname · 01/01/2015 18:26

Teehee. This reminds me of a memorable family day out when my 3 year old cousin actually did a poo in a display toilet in a bathroom centre!

CrohnicallyCold · 01/01/2015 18:41

I have to admit, I was very tempted recently, I have Crohn's and urgently needed the toilet while in B and Q, and they've closed their customer toilet.

Myself and my group of six friends were banned for life from a local pub at the weekend because one of our party opened a door in said pub, thinking it was the door to go outside of for a smoke. He closed it as soon as he realised it wasn't. Landlord went crazy, screaming and swearing at us all, kicked us out and barred us all for life. Chased us away from outside too. I think it was him who was drunk!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/01/2015 19:06

Our local B&Q has baths displayed ON the walls, just to confuse us .
How the feck does the water stay in Confused ?

A long time ago I worked in retail. I support stores being allowed to exclude potential customers if they wish, as long as it is not based upon a reason such as their race, gender or another personal characteristic covered by equality laws. They have to make a judgement as to whether it will help business or not.

NiceToesNaughtyToes · 02/01/2015 12:45

I once worked in a leading mobile phone retail store and we had dummy phones displayed on the walls with all their info/ prices. Said phones were gutted of all their inner components and had a paper screen-shot stuck behind their screens to show what the their main menu screens would look like.

We once had one stolen and a week later, the man who stole it walked back into the store to complain the phone was rubbish as he couldn't get out of the menu screen Grin

I love these threads purely to wait for someone to come along and comment who doesn't get the joke....

How original.

Grin I know someone whose small child did exactly this. Apparently, his DC1 (5) said "Dad, DC2(3) needs the toilet." He was looking for something so said "Go find Mum". Mum apparently said "Go tell Dad". DC1 then took the inititative and let DC2 use the display toilet. When friend realised they left in a hurry before they could be discovered!

Not as bad as me, I was looking at timber in the building yard when an assistant asked if I wanted decking. I got the first punch in & was banned Angry

OfaFrenchMind · 02/01/2015 13:19

Practice your sadface and contact the Daily Mail.

Very clever!

DoctorTwo · 02/01/2015 15:41

You got banned too? Thought it was just me. Some old bloke walked up to me in B&Q and asked if wanted decking. I got the first punch in, now I'm awaiting a court case for defending myself. Angry
