I am being unreasonable to ask a lasagne related question here BUT..

I was thinking about buying a few of those foil trays and putting lasagne in them. My question is, if I freeze them as planned is it safe to cook from frozen? Or would I need to defrost them first?

I tend to defrost personally - if you go down that route do not put those foil trays in the microwave!

(I just take out in morning and leave at room temp)

Yes it's fine to cook from frozen - but, when doing so use a lower temp for a long time e.g. 170c for 50 mins
Also don't fully precook the pasta or it will be really soggy by the time it's frozen and defrosted.

I always cook from frozen. They turn out fine
