DP is away, DD had tea at grandmas.

I'm stood in the kitchen eating crackers and cheddar with pickled onions on top straight from the fridge.

Join me.

Gravad lax and gingerbread. Just started on the house this afternoon needed a hammer to break in

IsabeauMichelle · 28/12/2014 17:54

Isn't it awful when it's all gone and you have to eat properly Sad Although, even I'M getting a bit bored of eating Confused

WyrdByrd · 28/12/2014 17:58

Tbf I'm not sure how a savoury B&B pud would work. DH is a chef and looked at me Hmm when I suggested it.

Sweet one made with day old tiger bread, pre-soaked dried plums & cinnamon is lovely though.

TillHammerZeit · 28/12/2014 18:08

I've just stocked up again. Taking advantage of all the reduced Christmas food. I got a large ham today for £2. That'll be used at New Year. A few Yule logs, which were half price. Tempura prawns half price. Pâté. A really big box of baklava reduced from £10 to £2. Tins of biscuits, tubs of pretzels, and a cheeseboard.

TillHammerZeit · 28/12/2014 18:10

And some trays of vegetables for roasting.

I'll probably regret buying it all,but it will be used.

SuperGlue · 28/12/2014 18:11

We had to go into town earlier for some essential supplies (toilet rolls & wine etc Xmas Grin) and when we got home I made a pot of coffee and I scoffed 2 slices of buttered white bread with cheese and onion crisps made into folded over sambos (in my defense I had no lunch) then I heated up Aldi specially select luxury mini plum and rum mince pies and we had some with fake baileys cream, they were TINY and there was coffee left in the pot so then we had a couple of profiteroles from the fridge

Our turkey is gone but we have some ham so dinner later I will spread a sheet of puff pastry with caramelised onion chuteny, small slices of ham, slices of camembert / brie from the cheeseboard and bake in the oven till crisp and melted and yummy, we will have this with a green salad and chunky M&S oven chips.

We have a good bit of christmas food left - lots of frozen party style bits such as duck spring rolls , breaded prawns, crisps, cheese & crakcers and chutenys etc so we have lots to keep us going. I adore christmas leftovers.

I am sad that our turkey adn sherry trifle are gone now

CatCushion · 28/12/2014 18:15

We still have posh pate and some christmas cake. :)

TheRealAmandaClarke · 28/12/2014 18:21

Brie & cranberry filo parcels, pickled onion, beetroots, cold meat, hot bread & melted butter, pate, bannoffee pie, choc pud, thick cream, Stilton, crackers.

What's not eaten today is being binned. Enough is enough :)

Chopsypie · 28/12/2014 20:01

Salt and vinegar Pringles. Enough to have removed my taste buds.

applecatchers36 · 28/12/2014 21:01

We had turkey curry tonight, still ploughing through the giant Stilton & box of Cadbury chocolate biscuits...

WhereYouLeftIt · 28/12/2014 21:02

Ooh, thanks for the reminder Grin!

FryOneFatManic · 28/12/2014 22:40

TheRealAmandaClarke thanks for your Brew. Mum fell and broke her knee, and is currently grumpy about it. Has phoned and told me not to go tomorrow as she's very worried about me driving on icy roads (in next town) as if I haven't been driving on icy roads for 20+ years

Need to go shopping tomorrow, so might just take a punt on what Xmas food is left in the shops, as I could rustle something up from the freezer but this might be a chance to try something else.

I did get to make the Rocky Road Grin and plan to hide some before the DCs snaffle it all......

frankie001 · 28/12/2014 23:11

You've all reminded me I took some Christmas cake from my parents. I must eat it now!

TheRealAmandaClarke · 29/12/2014 07:28

Fry ouch!
Drive carefully Xmas Grin

pressone · 29/12/2014 07:36

Cadlecrap

Left over Stilton and no crackers - make Stilton parcels!
crumble Stilton in the middle of a rectangle of puff pastry, brush edges with egg yolk, fold over and press round edges to seal. Paint top with more egg yolk, grate parmesan over to garnish. Make small hole on top with point of sharp knife so some Stilton oozes out, place parcels on baking parchment, cook for 20 mins at 200 centigrade.

Wait! If you eat straight out of the oven you will burn the roof of your mouth....

CadleCrap · 29/12/2014 07:48

pressone That sound delicious. will now have to but some more Stilton to try it Grin
