AIBU to ask my neighbours to take their fly tipping out of our bins?

Live in flats - one big container for all of us. Last collection was on 24th, so I think our next one isn't going to be until New Year's Eve.

Went to put rubbish out earlier and the flat downstairs have put discarded furniture and a buggy in the container - no room left for anything else.

AIBU to knock on their door later to ask them to take this away to the dump - it's all material that the collectors won't take and by completely filling up the bin, means all the food waste from our flats over the next few days is going to be left on the ground.

YANBU, but I hope they're not fighty people. Do they know that the rubbish collectors will refuse to empty the bin if it has junk in it?

Can you be sure, or prove, it was them?

Sure it's them, address labels on packaging and they're the only residents with children.

They have form for this, having left furniture, high chair etc. over the past two years. Managing agents can't prove it's them, so our service charges have paid for a van to take it away.

Which is annoying, but I'm more concerned that it the stuff stays in the bin and other people start putting rubbish on top, the collection team are going to take one look at it and refuse to do any form of a collection on their next visit.

Going to go down in a few minutes, so they can take the stuff out before it gets completely dark.

They might not know - I'm reliably informed that our binmen will take anything so long as it either fits in the bin or has a fiver taped to it!

YADNBU to point this out to them, or just remove it from the container, plonk it next to it, & continue filling the container as normal.

Maybe put a note on the pram seat saying 'Dear whoever left this in the container, the binmen won't take it (or the furniture) so none of us will get our rubbish collected if you don't take it to the tip instead!'?...if they're normally reasonable people & you suspect they just don't realise.

Sorted - they weren't particularly happy about being asked to deal with it, but acquiesced once I spelled out what a week without any bin space would be like for all of us. Husband has been rummaging stuff out of the container.
