Fed up, had chronic ear pain/ jaw pain and crunching for about 6 months to a year.
Sat here tonight with two throbbing ears, both sides of my jaw sore and crunching away and one ruptured eardrum and doctors are crap and dont think any of it is related.
Feeling so fed up of being in pain and trying to look after two small children while I'm in constant agony.Sad

So sorry you're suffering this badly.Have you had a referral to the Maxillofacial team at your local hospital? It sounds like you need one.

Have you seen your dentist? Or failing that a chiropractor? It may all be connected - I have wisdom teeth/jaw pain, upper back/shoulder tension, lower back pain/weakness, tight hamstrings... All connected!

Not seen my dentist yet, money had been really tight this year and I've just been putting it off so i dont have to fork out for it but I know I need to. My ear canals are so swollen the Dr couldn't get the light in to even look properly and had to get a special thin tool but said he doesn't think there's an infection?
I just want to cry it's so bad tonight. It makes me grouchy with poor kiddies. I feel like I'm falling to bits.

Oh that sounds bad, more than general tension for sure. NHs walk in?

JollyJingle · 23/12/2014 20:32

You need to ask your gp for an ENT referral.

Have you tried anti histamine?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 23/12/2014 20:40

If you're in a university town there might be a dental hospital you can visit for free.

FlowerFairy2014 · 23/12/2014 21:15

Have you tried anti biotics from the GP?
Have you tried seeing a different GP in the same practice you use?
As said above your GP may be could refer you to a specialist.

It sounds like on an urgent basis you need stronger pain killers and more sleep which is always hard with children. I am a huge believer in sleep, drinking only water and only good foods and eating less for general health which may help too.

I'm on a 10 day course of penicillin for strep throat at the minute so that should clear up any infection if there where one. Seen 3 different doctors and an out of hours gp all can't find an awful lot wronwrongvwith ears (besides the last one wh found my ear had ruptured and all the fluid had come out)
Ears are clearly swollen and in huge amounts of pain.
