period pain (AGAIN!)

on about 3 hours sleep.

If i take painkillers now I risk running out if doses before tomorrow morning.

Sleeping pill?
Large brandy?

Unfortunately need to be functioning again in 3 hours.

I fucking hate nights.

I did night shift for 10 years so I can empathise. When I went back after ds2 (he was 14 weeks and ds1 was 2.1) I had to sleep when they slept during the day so sleep was sadly lacking.

Could you alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen so that you have 24 hour pain cover. Hope you get some time off soon.

Paracet and ibuprof don't even sniff at the level of period pain I get.

I'm about at the puking stage. Hopefully can avoid the fainting stage this month. It is hideous. And I'm allergic to all the good stuff..

Don't suppose you could cancel your night? After all, you are not well, and if you call in now, you will give them enough time to find cover. Hope you feel better.

I do night shifts. I feel your pain. Home at 6:30am sleep till 11 if im lucky, 8:30 if I have uni. Maybe get an hours sleep before I go back in at 10pm

I can just picture me phoning in sick during Christmas week. I couldn't do that for anything less than ebola. Really.
Hopefully it'll be peaceful. Last night was.

Have you thought about mefenemic acid for your pain or going on the mini pill.
The mini pill has completely got rid of my periods so no more pain ever for me.

Mef acid works to a point for about 20 minutes. Also makes me itch.
Have recently had mirena. So far not working at all. It has 6 months to work or the uterus is coming out.

In the meantime...... OOOOOOWWWWWWCCCCCCCCCHHHH.

I also work nights
Start 9pm - finish 8am - take kids to school and usually struggle to drop off. I always wake after 2 hours for a wee and like you find it much harder when got period pain. Panadol for period pain works best for me. I also get caffeine free paracetamol from boots. Lots of pain relief have caffeine, which does not help.
You have my sympathy, sometimes I'm so tired I want to cry!

Some people can't work nights as they can't handle them.

Right start as if you going to bed at night. Warm bath, cold bedroom, hot water bottle (help the period pain as well as the sleep], dark blackout curtains. Even if you cant sleep just keep your eyes closed and you resting them. Hoping something works! X

Horrible period pains would be enough to get me to call in sick. You shouldn't feel guilty if you need to do so.

I feel for you. The last four nights I've had either three or four hours of sleep due to horrible, hormone-related insomnia. Antihistamines failed me. One breath away from Ambien at this point.

I find summer worse, lawn mowers are my nemesis, I fucking hate them!
Unless you have/do work nights its impossible to understand.
