To have forgotten to by DH an Xmas card

I know it's bad but I've been dashing around like a blue arsed fly since November. Everyone else got their cards via the last post on Saturday, presents are done but I stone cold forgot a card for DH - he insists it's fine as he forgot to buy a first wedding anniversary card but I still feel guilty. Grrr I usually love Christmas but it's been a real slog this year (dreams of taking myself off to a spa come January)

My DH and I don't buy each other cards, but if you two do then what's the problem?

It's only December 22nd Confused

arlagirl · 22/12/2014 22:45

Do spouses really give each other cards at Xmas???

Velvetbee · 22/12/2014 22:45

You buy your husband a Christmas card?
Can you not just leer 'I really love you', over the Buck's Fizz?

buttercupbear · 22/12/2014 22:46

Just buy one tomorrow..... Confused

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 22/12/2014 22:46

I never buy dh a card. Tbf we never buy each other gifts either. Christmas here is about food for us, gifts for the kids.

LadyLuck10 · 22/12/2014 22:46

Er you still have 2 days Confused

Suefla62 · 22/12/2014 22:46

I've been married for 45 years and I've never got my husband a Christmas card.

Philoslothy · 22/12/2014 22:46

You have two full days to buy a card, I thought that Christmas cards were for people you don't see in person very often.

CountingThePennies · 22/12/2014 22:46

I wouldnt worry about it.

My parents havent bought a card for each other in years

They bought each other a card 10 years ago then the same ones go up every year

Sn00p4d · 22/12/2014 22:48

Yep, that's why there's a big section of husband/wife cards...
I wouldn't worry, either buy him one now or chalk it up to experience, it's not Christmas yet so you haven't forgotten yet, just a wee delay!

misskangaandroo2014 · 22/12/2014 22:49

YANBU. I don't bother with a Christmas card to anyone living in my house, nor anyone who gets a gift.

ilovesooty · 22/12/2014 22:50

My father used to send me out every year to buy his card to my mother.

lomega · 22/12/2014 22:50

Aw. DH and I do xmas cards for each other, it's cute! My parents do it as well.

It's only the 22nd. Oh and M&S have their big special flashy cards at half price right now. Grin

BloodyUserName · 22/12/2014 22:53

Unfortunately we usually exchange cards on the morning of the 22nd before heading off to spend Christmas with family and whilst I can just about grab a petrol station card, he'll be waiting in the car and it won't be very subtle (or well chosen). We've always done cards though I think he'd like the leery Buck's Fizz idea.

I've never bought dh a Xmas card Confused

pollypocket123 · 23/12/2014 00:13

Loads of people buy their spouse a card...are the puzzled faces above for real?! Huge selection in the shops every year...doesn't mean you have to buy one, of course. I always do, for the record.

Philoslothy · 23/12/2014 00:15

I don't go into card shops, have never bought my husband a card of any description and have never noticed in in anybody else's house .

rockybalboa · 23/12/2014 00:19

DH gives me a Christmas card every year. Every single year I look at it and think "why have you bought me a Christmas card? I haven't bought you one...." I just don't get it. Don't buy them for the DC either. I also don't subscribe to the named recipient type card either. Not my bag. But in answer to your AIBU, just go buy one tomorrow?

RedSoloCup · 23/12/2014 00:21

We don't do cards, we do do birthday sometimes.

Frogme · 23/12/2014 00:22

You are supposed to send cards to your Dh? Why didn't I know this?

Llareggub · 23/12/2014 00:25

I don't send cards to anyone.

PiperIsTerrysChoclateOrange · 23/12/2014 02:52

I think shop bought cards are a huge waste of money. I really love homemade cards that children do using art supplies at home unprompted.

My family knows not to expect Christmas cards, I donate the money to charity.

FergusSingsTheBlues · 23/12/2014 06:25

I simply dont get the dilemma.

  1. Nip to shops
  2. Butpy card
  3. Sigh

You have two days!

hazeyjane · 23/12/2014 06:28
