Sexist git that he is. On Jonathon Ross last night, he walked past Barbara Windsor and said 'look at it, I'd give it one'.

His laugh makes me so mad! Grrrrr...

Why on earth? People can't really help their laughs. Yes, a laugh can be irritating, but why would it make you "so mad"? Actually he was taking the piss out of it himself during the show.

limitedperiodonly · 21/12/2014 12:01

I winced at the Pistorius joke but I have to confess it drew a shocked laugh.

That's his stock-in-trade and as he said, it was the Q Awards. It's not known for its taste and decency. If the audience didn't like it, maybe they can show their disapproval by boycotting next year's lavish freebie.

Yes they can if they aren't genuine laughs!

MyAcheybreakyBones · 21/12/2014 12:38

I like his humour even if it go's a little too far for peoples liking.

ByeByeButterfly · 21/12/2014 12:47

His humour is there for the shock value - if you weren't shocked/disgusted he'd be doing his routine wrong.

I like some of his stuff and not so much others.

A few of my blind/vi friends have met him and he is really nice. It's just a persona not the real him.

SaucyJack · 21/12/2014 12:57

I'd quite like to slap good ol' Babs to be honest.

googoodolly · 21/12/2014 12:58

He's lovely in real life. I went to see him in Cambridge a couple of years ago and he stayed behind afterwards and signed everyones tickets/programmes, shook hands and took photos with people. He was really down to earth and friendly.

His stage persona is just that - a persona.

Yes, I want to smack him too. Not for insulting Barbara Windsor mind.

He does that annoying laugh, like he's trying to pass an extremely large and sharp poo.

SoleSource · 21/12/2014 14:16

Lmao Lying

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 21/12/2014 14:27

Well I like him, he's well know for shock value comedy. If he's not your cup of tea just don't watch him.

I personally don't get Miranda at all and Mrs Browns boys is just baffling. But someone pointed out to me that I could turn the channel over if I didn't like what was on.Smile

chockbic · 21/12/2014 14:28

I have a thing for Jimmy, so no slapping.

Unless he requested it Xmas Grin

SoleSource · 21/12/2014 14:31

I'm watching Wossy now and Jimmy count has just come on, FF button is handy.

VikingLady · 21/12/2014 14:40

He plays a character, a persona, I'm public. If you read any interviews with him or his book on the nature of humour it's very obvious. Most comedians adopt a stage persona - Jack Dee isn't really a totally miserable sod, and I doubt Michael Macintyre is always cheerful and bouncy!

curiousgeorgie · 21/12/2014 14:40

I love Jimmy Carr, I think he's hilarious... And as others have said, he's got a lot of time for his fans and spends ages afterwards meeting everyone, chatting and signing everything.

I've met him a few times through work and he was lovely.

limitedperiodonly · 21/12/2014 14:59

There is that saucyjack

limitedperiodonly · 21/12/2014 15:05

Because why are you letting Babs off for being friends with the Kray twins and married to a medium-level gangster and enjoying his spoils?

I judge her about that.

Definitely more for the second, rather than the former.

Perhaps that what Carr did.

SpidersDontWashTheirHands · 21/12/2014 15:06

I don't want to slap him. I want to hit him round the head with a shovel and see if that stops his fucking stupid laugh.

JeanSeberg · 21/12/2014 15:35

Your description is brilliant, Sole, and so accurate.

MagnetsOnItsTail · 21/12/2014 15:38

Wasn't it Jimmy Carr who referred to rape as a 'struggle cuddle'? Ha ha rape is such a larf Hmm

Lifesalemon · 21/12/2014 15:40

I'm another Jimmy fan. He's lovely.
Can't stand Babs though and her voice and laugh are amongst the most annoying I've ever heard.

bananaramadramallama · 21/12/2014 16:09

I find him funny sometimes, not funny others.

You know what you're going to get with him, so can't be surprised when he says something shocking or ott. Same with Frankie Boyle.

SaucyJack · 21/12/2014 16:11

"If someone else had said that about Barbara Windsor there would be an outcry. For example - Jim Davidson or Noel Edmonds. Someone who isn't in fashion and generally not that popular."

Are you joking? Have you never seen a Carry On film? Dear Babs built an incredibly lucrative twenty year career off the back of having third-rate comedians making innuendos about her breasts.

The idea that it's offensive when JC does it is really rather ironic- which is exactly the look he was going for I should imagine.

SoleSource · 21/12/2014 16:17

Don't think BW has made cruel jokes of Downs children, but that's the irony, expose those that find his kind of sick humour funny.
