AIand the kidsBU to not get the Bleu de Chanel ad?

Every time the guy says "I'm not going to be the person I'm expected to be any more" we chorus "but we don't get who you are anyway and why is that woman crying?"

We don't get what question the woman is rephrasing and is she a model or a journalist anyway? Or was she an undercover journalist?

Yanbu. I don't get the Channel no. 5 ad either with Gisele Bundchen surfing. To be fair, I don't get many of the ads. Blush

I assume he's in a rl with the dark lady but has met the blonde (who is a model) and fallen for her. He can't forget her, and things aren't going well with Ms Dark, so she leaves him. Then while he's being interviewed, he spots Ms Blonde who seems to have a new job as a reporter, (or is maybe just stalking him) and he realises he wants out of his restraining world to go off with Blondie. All this time of course he's drenched in Bleu de Chanel and smells like a tart's parlour.
These perfume ads before Crimbo are all daft and very pretentious.

If he's just a photographer, why has he got his own press conference?

It's a perfume ad. YABU to expect any of them to make sense.

Oh thank goodness no-one else gets it either. Adverts for perfume are weird, but I don't see how they can improve considering we can't smell through the TV!

This is my favourite perfume ad just for him and the sheer nonsense of it.

Does anyone get the Chanel no 5 ad? It feels like she thinks he is leaving her but then why is that Christmassy or romantic and why would you say "what the hell are you doing" when you meet up in the private box at the theatre??

I think it's a bit like the scene from Notting Hill but it really annoys me as well.

You can only sell perfume by it's smell -until you invent smellivision your adverts are useless!!

Nothing else does though.

I don't get surfing woman chanel either but she appears to like her daughter.

I don't get it.

He leaves her, and he leaves a note telling her that she better shape up and understand him, and he walks out of the house leaving a child alone.

And then she goes to a photo shoot and runs down an alley to meet him in a theatre and all is forgiven.

Why is she not telling him to sod off?

I don't like the Chloe one either but at least you can understand it. Bloke begging on phone for girl to answer his calls, leaving bad chat up lines on her answer machine.

All these perfume ads are so dark and miserable aren't they? You'd be reluctant to buy the stuff if it made you feel like that. They should include a free rope in the box so you can hang yourself.

There's a nice one about something to do with daisies. A woman lying in a field of flowers in the sunshine. Now that would make me interested in buying some.

The drippy rendition of "You're the one that I want" has to be the worst remix ever. The only good thing about the original was its energy.

That Bleu advert is genuinely the stupidest advert ever made but my word that man in it is gorgeous! ^^

The actor is Gaspard Ulliel ( played Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal rising) and the ad was directed by Martin Scorsese
not got the foggiest what it's about though

Because obviously no self respecting wearer of perfume could carry off a career, being a wife and parenthood. Makes you wonder how her husband does it all...

I just read the article & thought what a load of old tosh. It really doesn't make me want to wear the perfume at all.

I'd like to be able to surf though (but last time I went surfing I had a massive wipeout & nosebleed).

Slightly relatedly I keep seeing a Cartier advert which seems to feature a family of leopards in Heaven (lying around on fluffy clouds looking down at the world far below etc) - am I the only one to find this very confusing/distracting? Are the leopards dead because they are an endangered species/going extinct? If so, how does that relate to encouraging the buying of diamonds? Have they perhaps been killed for their fur, also a luxury item?
