To ask how much weight you usually put on over Christmas?

Eurgh I've gained 5lbs.

I have three more eating out meals before Christmas day and our boxing day is like a second Christmas (two families)

I'm so going to gain at least half a stone aren't I? Time to bring out the elasticated jeans Wink

Please tell me I'm not the only one?

I do! Don't know how much don't want to know... I can just tell by my clothes and my fat face

It's the alcohol and the yummy food but don't like cheap chocolate and unless someone gives me some lovely chocolates, I don't have any here so that will help. But I drink far more. However, I do Dryathlon during January so that tends to level it out I hope.

SocialMediaAddict · 19/12/2014 19:49

None. I eat what I want on Christmas Day then eat normally the rest plus exercise.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 19/12/2014 19:57

I don't put on weight over Christmas either,because I don't pig out!

HermioneWeasley · 19/12/2014 20:01

I gain at least a couple of pounds. I love Christmas food and thoroughly enjoy indulging in things I onky get once a year.

Sidge · 19/12/2014 20:12

Maybe a few pounds - I'm normally quite slim but I do eat loads of stuff over Xmas that I wouldn't normally eat.

Patients bring in tins and tins of chocolates and biscuits for us, so its easy to nibble those throughout the day.

I drink more than I usually would.

I eat loads of cheese and crackers, and over Christmas Day and Boxing Day I graze constantly and eat things like sausage rolls and vol au vents that I wouldn't normally have!

I don't go out for a run very often as I'm so busy at work and then tired when I get home, and also the kids are off school so it limits my morning run opportunities.

As soon as the children go back to school it all goes back to normal and my jeans aren't so tight within a few days.

dragdownthemoon · 19/12/2014 20:14

I will put on about half a stone over the Christmas holidays, same as the other school holidays.

RufusTheReindeer · 19/12/2014 20:37

I have gained 8lbs in a week before Blush

Didn't pork out, it was just all the wrong things!

Didn't take long to lose it though! Bloody depressing

Quite pleased so far as although I am overweight I haven't gained any extra weight so far

Discopanda · 19/12/2014 20:44

Erm well this year I'm pregnant so probably a pound a week!

Shockers · 19/12/2014 20:48

Historically, I lose weight because I'm always ill as soon as I break up from school.

Finished at 1pm today- I was in bed with a fever by 2.30.

I'm still there.

dancingwitch · 19/12/2014 20:53

I've put on 4lbs since 1st Dec which means I'm on track to put on half a stone which sounds about right to me. It has been a delicious few days! I gain weight just by looking at chocolate and usually do 5:2 simply to maintain my weight at the very top of a healthy BMI but all bets are off in December. All the little things like choosing a gingerbread latte over an Americans, saying yes rather than no to a mince pie, joining DP in a glass of wine in the evening, having a chocolate or a biscuit when someone brings them into the office for their birthday rather than ignoring them quickly turn into a few extra pounds. I usually lose it all again by the end of January. Yes, there will be more denial in Jan than if I hadn't indulged myself now but I still do it every year. Same with every holiday.

zombiesheep · 19/12/2014 20:53

I'll probably be the same OP, a few pounds, nothing major but still a bit.

Seems like competitive MN is out in force again tonight.

You should never make a food/weight related thread on here, ever. If you ask anyone else this question in real life you'd probably get more real answers.

WorraLiberty · 19/12/2014 21:19

Primadonnagirl so rather than hide the thread, you honestly think that people who don't gain weight over Christmas, shouldn't post because it makes you feel bad?

Seriously?

Just chill out and enjoy doing your own thing while others chill out and do theirs.

Enjoying Christmas is what it's all about and we all have different ways of doing that.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 19/12/2014 22:32

Probably 5 pounds or so. I watch what I eat the rest of the year mostly but like to relax a bit in December.

It's not from 'pigging out' in the sense of lying on the couch eating chocolates for the whole month of December - it's from all the lunches out, extra nights out, booze, dinners in restaurants, associated hangover eating etc etc.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 19/12/2014 22:33

(Although I do a bit of couch chocolate eating too!)

Firstmum03 · 10/06/2019 14:59

5 pounds would be a dream...... put on about a stone this holiday... hello plus size clothes!!!
