Posting here for traffic.

Just saw that the salmon en croute I had bought a couple of days ago is now past it's use by date (yesterday). Is it ok to eat today do you think?

Sniff it. Does it smell ok. Then use it. Use by dates are GUIDELINES FFS.

SoonToBeMrsB · 18/12/2014 12:28

I would, but I probably wouldn't leave it any longer than today.

I wouldn't. I try not to be ridiculously governed by use by dates but so far as meat and fish are concerned I don't take the risk.

Definitely. I'm sure they are risk averse enough to cover themselves well when they put the date on in the first place.

I agree 100%. One day past is absolutely fine.
