Well the world of celebrities.

Friend thinks she's beautiful but not the most but up there what do you think?

I can't get excited about this generation of so-called beauties either. I think there has to be glamour too, and this lot don't have it imho.

I'd prefer the likes of Marilyn, Grace, Sophia et al. Proper, grown up glamour as well as good looks.

My epitome of female beauty is Debbie Harry.

wowfudge · 16/12/2014 16:31

Charlize Theron - now there is a beautiful woman. And I think she could hold her own amongst the Hollywood stars of the past.

MeeWhoo · 16/12/2014 16:37

YABU, most beautiful woman I've seen is Erykah Badu. Try and find me someone else who can pull off that amount of extreme hair styles.

I'm happy with my looks but I recently found a couple of photos of my dad taken in the '40s.

He seriously looked like a film star. Jaw-dropping.

It made me momentarily depressed that I didn't inherit those looks, then I pulled myself together and remembered that I'm a nice person sometimes who gives to charity. Like that made it better Wink

It was a fucking depressing find. You don't imagine your dad aged 20-something. And then not like someone whose poster you'd have up on your bedroom wall.

This is not to disparage my mum, who was very pretty. I like to think I'm pretty too, but his face was outstanding. And I never got the impression that he cared about it.

He was very hot on us looking after our teeth because he'd lost his in his late 30s or early 40s. He still had them in the photos though and they were depressingly perfect and gleaming, even in black and white.

He had other good qualities too. And so did my mum.

Me, not so much Wink

limitedperiodonly · 16/12/2014 16:40

Debbie Harry in 1978 definitely.

Nancy66 · 16/12/2014 16:45

I think Cara Wotsit is cute but not beautiful.

ilovesooty · 16/12/2014 17:33

Honestly ssd I only notice what people look like on a very fleeting level and have a shocking memory for faces. I remember what people say very very clearly but very little about what they look like. I struggle even to recognise people on a second meeting unless I've had a conversation with them first time round.
I can't understand the intense interest in appearances..

TheWordFactory · 16/12/2014 17:43

I think she's really pretty.

But more importantly, she's cool and fun and has her own style - which counts for far more than beauty in the modelling stakes these days.

TeaAddict235 · 16/12/2014 18:15

she"s alright, nothing gobsmacking.

Eryka Badu is gorgeous. As are
Christine Orugu,
Kerry Washington,
Audrey Tatou,
....so many other women

MrsMarcJacobs · 16/12/2014 18:22

Dont think she's great - have seen far prettier models but I guess she has a unique look and that's what makes her stand out. Kind of like Kate miss is not the most beautiful either.

HelloitsmeFell · 16/12/2014 18:23

I don't think she's anything special at all.

bigbluestars · 16/12/2014 18:30

Fairly ordinary.

SoggyOldBiscuit · 16/12/2014 18:40

I think that Natalie Portman is incredibly beautiful.

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/12/2014 19:06

I think the original Super Models of the eighties were much more beautiful than today's crop - especially Cindy Crawford. The models then had lovely faces and, although very slim, had proper curves too. They still look great.

professornangnang · 16/12/2014 19:15

She's pretty meh, I think.

ithoughtofitfirst · 16/12/2014 19:23

I'm now obsessed with this girl thanks to this thread. She's got amazing eyes and bone structure. Plus.. her hair. Drool. Dh agreed.

GahLinDah · 16/12/2014 19:23

In my next life I am going to look just like Natalie Portman, I hope to have her brains too. Xmas Grin

notagainffffffffs · 16/12/2014 19:24

Poor girl getting built up and torn to shreds like this by grown women.
If people picked apart your dds like this in public I'm sure you would be beyond furious.
Disgusting.

yummytummy · 16/12/2014 19:27

She's not a woman she's a girl

squoosh · 16/12/2014 19:28

Oh I don't know. Her extremely lucrative career is based completely on her looks so I don't think it's outrageous that people express opinions about her appearance.

I believe she's venturing into the world of acting, will be interesting to see how that goes.

QueenCleo · 16/12/2014 19:31

She's pretty but not my cup of tea. My picks are Helena Bonham Carter, Christina Hendricks, Lean Headey, Juliette Lewis, Audrey Hepburn, Olivia de Havilland and Jessica Rabbit Grin

QueenCleo · 16/12/2014 19:33

*Lena Headey, even!

It's all subjective though, that's the wonderful thing about attraction.

I think she's pretty enough and has the type of bland looks that go well with being a model but nowhere near being the most beautiful woman in the world. YABU

OttiliaVonBCup · 16/12/2014 19:37

I vote for Gemma Arterton.

Giselle looks like horse tbh.
