My family are fairly prudish (haven't seen my parents or DB naked since I was about 4) and also not very physically affectionate (will hug hello and goodbye but not much else). So imagine my horror when staying over at my best friend's house aged 13 - her mum came to wake us up in the morning completely naked apart from a towel around her wet hair! Another from the stable of the ex boyfriend. When we used to go and see his mother and father, they would just say hello, wouldn't get up, just stayed glued to the (massive) TV. No exchanges happened during these visits. No enquiries as to health or what anyone had been up to. I just thought they were tired until I went along at Christmas and the whole family where there (his pre-teen children, his grandmother, aunts etc). ALL still just sitting in silence, watching ITV (so not riveting). All day, nobody said a word or asked how anyone was, what they'd been up to etc. The only exchanges were along the lines of "fancy a cuppa" and "lovely grub." Baffling.
