to be pissed off at DP for barely being home all weekend?

DP works part-time and does the majority of the home stuff during the week. He's often very bored during weekdays while I'm at work and DD is at school, so understandably likes to see his friends for some of his own time on weekends. There's no 'strict schedule' to this, but usually we like to have our time on weekends too.

I have had a really awful week this week and was in tears because of work on Friday. We were supposed to go out on Saturday evening but DD has been unwell so we've left it for now. He went to the gym and 12.00 yesterday and didn't come home until after five, when he spent hours downstairs on the computer with his friend. He then went out to work to do overtime (he hadn't warned me about this either, I thought we'd at least have the night in together). Today, he has done much the same. DD is very unwell and I have caught her bug too. Some company would have been nice.

AIBU to be really annoyed at him for not being in at all? Or is it his right to have this weekend for himself?

Some people see what is needed. Some see and ignore. Some really don't see. Not knowing your dp I suggest communication around your needs and negotiation would maybe be an idea. I'm really tired, I'm sick, I need a break. Please could you help me. If you've got no strict rules and sacked your night off together, it's quite possible hw thought no time together was ok.

Thank you for your response frosty, and for the flowers! You're probably right, I just need to have a chat with him. I'll have to try really hard not to let my anger slip through!
