I saw a gift for my best mate last weekend and felt all smug for starting Xmas shopping early.

Hubris has however bitten me as yesterday she organised a secret Santa for our group and I have pulled her name. The price limit was £5 and I have spent £15 on her gift. It is obvious it costs more than a fiver (was a bargain at £15).

What do I do? Give her 2 gifts or give a bigger secret Santa gift. The other thing to note is I am more financially well off and she does not like me paying for stuff and insists on going 50:50.

Can you save it for her birthday?

2 gifts of course - see if you can get something that was already 5 reduced, or make something. If you had pulled someone elses name out, you would still be giving her the 15 gift, and she would be getting one

You dont have to tell her you are her 'giver'

Birthday just gone so that is a no-go. I may make it from me and DP and go that way as he is not in the secret Santa.
