To think that karaoke is a rubbish idea for a pre-Xmas meet up with friends

We don't get together as often any more, we've all managed to find an evening we're free before the festive period and the idea is to go to Karaoke?

AIBU to think this isn't the best idea when you are supposed to be catching up?

PS: I've already said it's not ideal for purpose and suggested dinner before so those that want to Karaoke can do so afterwards?

Sounds fun to me, but no, maybe not good for catch up conversations.

Karaoke is a great idea for a change. You can still chat easily, it won't be anywhere near as loud as a nightclub.

I went to karaoke for my friends birthday i really didn't like the idea but it actually was really fun and would go again. maybe the others want a fun night out and don't want to sit around chatting

I would like dinner followed by karaoke.

Bambambini · 01/12/2014 10:32

Not my idea of a fun night. Don't mind an impromptu sing along in the house with friends but not mikes and trying to follow words on a screen shit.

Yanbu, I hate karaoke. I find it just too boring tbh. After a snob or two it's just not funny anymore.
