To think that my brother should listen to his dog and start digging?

My brother has a greyhound. She's very bright and every time he takes her for a walk in a particular field near his home, she stops and won't move from a particular spot.

She always stops there and he has a hard time moving her. She stares at the ground and won't move. When he does pull her away she leaves but with her head turned back at the area until it's out of sight.

AIBU to insist he digs!? What's down there!?

You will come back and tell us, won't you?

Paddingtonthebear · 30/11/2014 18:52

I think I would suggest he digs but may not like what he finds

Dogs have an incredible sense of smell but I can't think what a greyhound would find the scent of

My first thought is a body of some kind, may just be a rabbit but I would have to dig after such a strong indication of something of interest

Selinasupreme · 30/11/2014 18:56

I'm so nosy. I won't sleep now for wondering what this is.

notagainffffffffs · 30/11/2014 18:58

How the fuck are you not there already, spade in hand?

skylark2 · 30/11/2014 19:00

It's probably where the local male greyhound pees.

Andrewofgg · 30/11/2014 19:04

No Euphemia Shergar is on tour with Elvis, Princess Di, and Lord Lucan . . . but keep it secret.

CuttedUpPear · 30/11/2014 19:26

woooooooo

Booboostoo · 30/11/2014 20:00

I bet it's cat poo! Grin

lljkk · 30/11/2014 20:05

Rabbit nest?

VanitasVanitatum · 30/11/2014 20:06

Please go dig!! Right now!!

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/11/2014 20:07

Oh I'd be soooo curious

HonestLie · 30/11/2014 20:07

Insist and if it doesn't work take a shovel and get out there yourself. In daylight though Grin

PotOfYoghurt · 30/11/2014 20:08

When is he next going for a walk?!

LoathsomeDrab · 30/11/2014 20:08

If she's anything like my lot it'll be something dead and rotting she wants to roll in Grin

Mine once found the remnants of a very long dead toad. I've never been more thankful to have very short coated and easy to clean dogs.

PumpkinPie2013 · 30/11/2014 20:08

I'd be there with a spade either with or without brother's help! I'm nosy though Grin

We can’t all be left in suspense wondering what it is - we need to know!

Faez · 30/11/2014 20:10

I HAVE to know now, please dig!

HedgehogsDontBite · 30/11/2014 20:10

Do dogs spot truffles like pigs?

fluffyraggies · 30/11/2014 20:12

Personally i wouldn't be digging. I doubt very much if the dog is smelling gold coins! It's more likely to be something rotting Hmm

maybe mention it to your local PC?

YouAreMyRain · 30/11/2014 20:14

Join them on their next walk, with a spade (and a gas mask)

Selinasupreme · 30/11/2014 20:21

Have you started digging yet?

ClangerOnaComeDown · 30/11/2014 20:35

It'll be a den of some sort or dead animal festering.

But still I'd be there with a shovel!

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 30/11/2014 20:47

Sorry I went away! I can't go there as it's 4 miles away and I don't drive! Grin

I don#t like the sound of dead rabbits...but I can't help but fee. it's too curious to ignore!

Moles! I bet it's moles!

Unless you are in Ireland, we don't have moles or snakes here.

If you are in Ireland, it's definitely Shergar.
