To think Christmas Day itself is crap?

I'm no grinch, I love the festivities the decorations, the twinkly lights etc but I always find the 25th so bloody boring!

The same shite on the tv year after year, the cooking and getting it all ready for the same time. Is it just me that thinks it's a bit of an anti climax?

Booze at breakfast, children so excited, turkey and roast potatoes and bread sauce...

Yes, YOU ARE BEING UNREASONABLE!

(ps we don't watch any telly at all - just eating and drinking and opening presents and I love it!)

Yeah, I'm not fussed about Christmas. Loved it when the children were small. Dp was always very ill with depression after Christmas, so I began to dread it. Then MiL was ill, and nkw guilt trips us into attendance at stressful family dinner. I'd rather stay at home in my Pj's eating naice cheese. Off to London on the 27th tjis year so MiL can have her way then fuck off Grin

Oh my God... Another bloody zombie thread. I always get done by them... Or I'm reading a really juicy thread and it disappears...

Christmas is a nice time of year, a way to get through the darkness I suppose.

It is far too commercialised but probably has been for a long time now.

The expectation that Christmas Day will be the best day ever is often not met, it depends on the dynamics.

I hope I don't sound like a Bah Humbug, but honestly I am usually glad when it is all over. Then the real relaxation can happen, you know PJs for a few days, eating and grazing as you want to, no housework, who cares and so on. That's enjoyable.

For many being cooped up with family that you don't see that often can turn out to be problematic. It can be a long and boring day. Not everyone wants to play monopoly or watch TV, but it seems wrong to scarper and read a book, must be sociable, must be happy, must enjoy! You get the picture.

Anyway it is only one day after all. But it can be a trial and hard work too.

It's not a zombie thread, it is just saving someone from having to open a similar one for this year.

Same shit different year, just add to it!
