To send Christmas cards out now?

I have just sent out all my Christmas cards (about 100). It was convenient to write them out over the last couple of days. I considered holding off until December before posting them but that would have meant the messages I'd written to people I am going to see over the weekend would be weird and out of date.

I am already anticipating a load of people (my Mum included) saying how early it is.

I loves ending and receiving cards too. It's an important part of the festive season, especially in an increasingly digital world where we passively keep in touch via fb without actually talking to people.

I also send a card to everyone who came to our wedding (two years ago). They are important people to us.

Too early! Last year we received a christmas card during the first week of December and I put it aside to display closer to christmas, I found it again in a pile of paperwork in January. I had completely forgotten about it because I received it too early.

I'm a Christmas card fan but that's too early. If I got one through now it would be stuck in a drawer and probably forgotten about until after Christmas.

I wrote mine at the weekend and I'm feeling quite smug about it. It's usually put off until it has to be done so this is a first for me. Feels good.

But I'm not posting them until at least the first weekend in December. I do think now is too early.

Woohoo! I got back last night from a week away and there was a Christmas card on the mat. It's from someone in the US so it must have been sent a week earlier. I'm not the first!
