My sister says the mum was clearly playing away and the kids saw it. I say it was her husband and the kids, in their innocence, didn't get that.

We did, however, agree that apart from the 5 Gold Rings the bloke buying presents in the 12 Days of Christmas song got it really wrong.

I though the song was about mummy kissing the real Santa Claus.

If she was cheating then what are the chances that the Santa you are visiting with your children, is also your lover?! Or in a different scenario, would you get your lover to dress up as Santa for your kids to meet?!

I thought she was cheating! I need to go and reassess some areas of my life now.

Had this discussion with a girl at work the other day... Although we did decide that it was daddy dressed as Santa, we liked it better thinking that mummy was just a bit of a slut.

Girl thinks it would have been a laugh if her dad had seen the kissing. Seems a tad spiteful obviously since you (the listener) know it's really her dad you're supposed to be amused.

This has always bothered me about that song, that the child thinks it would be funny for Dad to see Mom kissing Santa.

I think, once he's got a santa suit on, it doesn't much matter who she's kissing.

The song was originally recorded in 1952 so the chances of it meaning that Mommy is some old slapper who will happily cheat in front of her kids on Xmas Eve is unlikely.

Had it been recorded in 2002 however, I doubt you would find anyone prepared to believe that she wasnt cheating :o
