To buy DS Whey Protein?

DS has joined a gym as although he is fit and plays lots of sport he is 6ft 3 and very skinny.
He has started doing weights and wants me to buy him some whey protein to help build his muscles.
I have googled abit as I haven't got a clue about these things,
So I am wondering if it's a thing he should be taking to help him, or is it hype? He is almost 17

I'm happy to buy stuff online, but only if it's approved for use in sport. The Informed-Sport and 100% Me websites are the ones I'll check out first.

I make an extended version of the protein shake, and can't recommend it enough

The Chia, peanut butter, banana and kale all contribute to making the shake more balanced and nutritious. A bit of wheatgrass powder too is great for vits and mins and support the body's uptake of the raw protein

I am not sure. I'm inclined to think at 17, if he'd buy it anyway ... And there are worse things for him.

I agree encouraging a healthy diet is better, in the whole, though.

I lost 5 stone drinking protein milk shakes once though. Never had a milkshake since!
