That 312 calories is too high for a nice mug of coffee?

Ok ok it was made with 100g of Carnation Evaporated Milk, 250ml of semi skimmed milk and 2 whole teaspoons of Demerara sugar Blush . It was delicious though :)

What's your naughty but nice secret indulgence?

But for many we can't just eat and drink what we like- as you say we have to find a balance. Not just consume whatever we fancy.

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 26/11/2014 22:26

Nobody mentioned having everything you fancy but you absolutley can have something high in calories occasionally without suddenly becoming obese. To think otherwise is in fact rather odd

bigbluestars · 26/11/2014 22:29

No-one thinks that- what a strange thing to say.

MistyMistletoe · 26/11/2014 22:37

Go on Bath treat yourself Smile

I put the Carnation, semi skimmed milk, sugar and instant coffee into a milkpan and heated it up on the stove until the right temperature. It was delicious!

bigbluestars that's exactly my point though. When I want a nice treat that's what I want and I'm not going to be thinking about the calories at that moment iyswim. Everything in moderation.

ThereIsACarInTheKitchen · 26/11/2014 22:53

Also I'm not obese. Far from it. I'm a size 8.

ThereIsACarInTheKitchen · 26/11/2014 22:55

I suppose what I'm trying to say is (and I'm not putting this across very well) is that obviously it's not a good idea to drink these drinks every day. However every once in a while it's okay and in which case I'm not going to be bothered about how many calories are in it because I know it's a treat.

bigbluestars · 26/11/2014 22:57

But spmetimes we have to deny ourselves to keep things in moderation. I may have a few days when I feel I have eaten too many treats, so although I fancy a pudding or whatever, I won't have one.

Although you are not obese I know obese people who do eat "just what they fancy"- that's what gets them into trouble.

grocklebox · 26/11/2014 22:58

Whoever asked about the hot milk americano, you can ask for a flat white, or a no foam wet cappucino, or if they don't know either (they should though!) just ask for steamed milk for your americano.

Gaia81 · 26/11/2014 23:08

After losing 12kg in just over a year (only a size 10 to begin with) I'm eternally grateful for calorific coffees as I'm working away, having to grab lunch on the run and there's not much on the high street I can eat.

Suzannewithaplan · 26/11/2014 23:21

just never drink calories, it's an out and out waste.

I'd have had a black coffee with 312 calories worth of chocolate, which is a reasonable amount of chocolate and far more satisfying with a nice caffeine and theobromine buzz to boot

CoffeeandNumbers · 27/11/2014 00:00

I love....

Disclaimer.... This may change your life if you've not tried. I am overweight. Fuck y'all skinny bitches. Grin

Also partial to French onion soup with a giant cheesy crouton.

And I'm a skinny caramel cappuccino kinda girl, costa's cake stand is pants tho IMHO.

LurkingHusband · 27/11/2014 00:21

Costa has two menus ... one with prices, the other with calories.

Sainsburys cafe menu has calories listed alongside the price.

There's hardly anything under 400 calories ... and IIRC, the mega breakfast is getting on for 1200 ...

MistyMistletoe · 27/11/2014 00:39

Coffee I've never seen that spread or the cookies it tastes of. Is it really that good?

MistyMistletoe · 27/11/2014 00:42

Gaia when I'm at work I regularly go all day without solid food (due to being totally crazily busy) and welcome and depend on high calorie beverages to keep me going.

CoffeeandNumbers · 27/11/2014 00:52

misty I'm sure you would have had similar biscuits in a hotel or at a restaurant maybe, the crunchy brown caramel tasting ones in a lil two pack? Delish!!

The spread, especially the yellow crunchy variety tub, is just amazing.
And even these idiots say so...

Coffee are the biscuits individually wrapped and arrive on the saucer with the coffee? Do they taste a little bit burnt? If so I remember having those kind of biscuits.

CoffeeandNumbers · 27/11/2014 15:02

misty Thems the ones!

MistyMistletoe · 27/11/2014 18:29

Thanks Coffee I can't imagine the appeal of creamed biscuits myself. Perhaps one has to taste for ones self to appriciate the raved about deliciousness Smile
