In the award they praised his efforts in Africa and the middle east on the basis he lead two G8 summits, one of which was titled Africa: make poverty history.

I wouldn't boycott a charity because of who was associated with them, I give to causes that I feel are in most need, that donations can make a difference to, by process of elimination.

There is usually more than one charity working in the area.

I don't support it because it seems to have hijacked something that was originally just a bit of fun, or something that schools would do to raise PTA money, or workplaces did for the charities they already support.

Now that STC have claimed a monopoly on it, people feel obliged to do it for them.

I will be wearing a Christmas jumper on the day, as I do on many days in December, and just won't donate to that charity. I support other charities anyway.
