I have seen two today and neither needed to be reversed to give an impartial comment. You come across as a bit wet.

What have I missed? There are two threads about reverses and another with rules for AIBUs. Am I being spectacularly in observant today?

howtodrainyourflagon · 21/11/2014 22:20

Perhaps mnhq could change the aibu guidelines to ban reverses.

Cooee! MNHQ can we have a reverse aibu ban please, because they make us grumpy and viperlike?

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 21/11/2014 22:35

@Eeeeekyeeek

Can we have a ODFO smiley please? Just for reverse threads.

No.

Fairenuff · 21/11/2014 22:36

Bah humbug. You're not fun at all Olivia

No.[/quote]

IN fact, for the record, you shouldn't be ODFO'ing ANYONE.
Peace and friffing love, people.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 21/11/2014 22:37

As for the ban request, that is something we'd need to have a think about so thanks for flagging.

OttiliaVonBCup · 21/11/2014 22:38

We won't need the special ODFO smile if they were banned.
Not at all.

Fairenuff · 21/11/2014 22:39

Can you at least give a very stern warning (and peer over your glasses at the same time)?

Momagain1 · 21/11/2014 22:48

rustic reverseis when you write your post from the point of view of the other person, who would be asking if their actions were Unreasonable in light of your actions. Aiming to have them declared U, and by extension, you are then not U.

Clear as mud?

rusticwomble · 21/11/2014 23:07

Momagain1 Ok....I think I get it. Makes my head hurt, but I understand ;) Fairenuff No lies, promise. Just answer a post nicely, then leave. Great, thanks! :D

NormaStits · 22/11/2014 00:25

I don't understand the point of reverses?

That's not a rhetorical question, I genuinely would like to know why people do them?

Jolleigh · 22/11/2014 01:24

Vital - you've actually helped me out a bit with some of your comments! I have to name change very soon (possible outing situation) and I really didn't know what to do to not come across as a new poster!

Now I just need to work out how long I've been on MN Confused

Jolleigh · 22/11/2014 01:26

And feck knows what to do about stuff already under this name Sad

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 22/11/2014 11:06

Jolleigh - do mail us if there's anything we can help with

Jill2015 · 22/11/2014 11:18

I've never understood the need for reverses either. They make my head hurt.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 22/11/2014 11:23

Reverses are a pain in the arse and why posters won't be upfront in the first place genuinely irks me.

Irk, I like that word!

VanitasVanitatum · 22/11/2014 11:28

'You shouldn't be ODFO'ing ANYONE'

Olivia Shock this is mumsnet not nethuns!!! And you lot did create AIBU...

Fairenuff · 22/11/2014 11:28

I think it's a form of trolling because their opening post is full of lies.

And, in the case of the two threads in question, both OPs are either new or nc and neither has come back to their thread. They have just posted a load of lies and left. If that's not trolling, what is?

Itsfab · 22/11/2014 12:51

Cake and Wine all round.
