  1. Only post juicy AIBUs. Do not sneak in general chat topics under the guise of "AIBU to ask you about... pushchairs/holiday properties/breastfeeding/insert other dull topic?"
  1. Clearly indicate your aibu topic in the thread title. "AIBU to be annoyed about this?" is not acceptable, as I may click on it and find it dull.
  1. No "posting for extra traffic". This is the MN equivalent of queue-jumping.
  1. No indication of light-heartedness. MNers should be sufficiently intelligent and discerning to understand when the OP is tongue-in-cheek.

Thank you for your co-operation. Smile

drip feeding.

There ought to be some rules about that.

While it is not possible to know what may turn out to be relevant, anything that completely changes the entire situation must be put in the OP or will be disregarded and stricken from the record on account of it being a big fat fib.

eg my mother in law bought me a cake, aibu to go no contact
100 posts of you bloody twat later, op adds
well, you're all bitches, it was shaped like a giant turd and said fuck off and die on it and was filled with razor blades.

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:51

Christmas and PIL threads probably OK provided that some sort of specific and unusual horror is contained in the title. Like "AIBU not to want to camp in PILs garden over Christmas and eat our dinner out of the dog's bowl".

Just not wanting to go to the PIL is very last Christmas.

Jill2015 · 21/11/2014 18:52

I was in the post office today and the manager punched in me in the face and stole my first born child. AIBU to complain.

YABU ... Manager may have been having a bad day... Wink

Fairenuff · 21/11/2014 18:53

No starting threads with just a little bit of information and fucking off for three hours days leaving posters squabbling amongst themselves.

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:54

Correction of grammar and spelling is only acceptable where the other party is BU.

OP posts:
SnotandBothered · 21/11/2014 19:02

Agree with the correction of grammar rule (although any poster airing a ridiculous view whilst simultaneously using textspeak is also fair game).

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 19:14

Yep. Textspeak should automatically be open to ridicule.

Can any references to boiled piss be moved instantly to the 'recipes' topic?

Vitalstatistix · 21/11/2014 19:23

can we also have some sort of rule about the phrase "first world problem" ?

Preferably involving the spiky end of a pineapple, the typist's arse and an absence of lube?

MrsWembley · 21/11/2014 19:24

Awwww, Mardy, I was about to come in with a request re spelling, punctuation and grammar...

andsmileitschristmas · 21/11/2014 19:30

  1. party invites/special days out
Cauliflowersneeze1 · 21/11/2014 19:35

AIBU questions about aldi / lidl / waitrose should be limited to 10 a day , although this may be covered in 1 and 2 above

Anyone referring to their DH as hubby should be strictly ignored until they humbly apologise for their faux par

AlpacaYourThings · 21/11/2014 20:35

No huns, bubz or hubz.

Don't start an AIBU if you aren't willing to accept you might be being unreasonable.

Jill2015 · 21/11/2014 20:38

Fairenuff · 21/11/2014 21:08

Telling posters not to post if they have a different opinion.

Ban it!

500smiles · 21/11/2014 23:43

There are so many threads that I want to post a link to this one on.

Jolleigh · 22/11/2014 01:37
