  1. Only post juicy AIBUs. Do not sneak in general chat topics under the guise of "AIBU to ask you about... pushchairs/holiday properties/breastfeeding/insert other dull topic?"
  1. Clearly indicate your aibu topic in the thread title. "AIBU to be annoyed about this?" is not acceptable, as I may click on it and find it dull.
  1. No "posting for extra traffic". This is the MN equivalent of queue-jumping.
  1. No indication of light-heartedness. MNers should be sufficiently intelligent and discerning to understand when the OP is tongue-in-cheek.

Thank you for your co-operation. Smile

I can see where you're coming from wrt Rule 2 DadDad, but I like to aim high.

OP posts:
nannynoss · 21/11/2014 18:34

Number 3 is my favourite.

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:35

Yes, rule number 5 is absolutely no reverse cunting AIBUs.

No gavels?

What about a spatula?

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:37

OK, I'll let you have a spatula mainly for the comedy value Faire.

OP posts:
usualsuspect333 · 21/11/2014 18:38

Don't call everyone bullies if the unanimous decision is YABU.

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:39

I now have a mental image of Faire flapping a spatula on a desk instead of banging a gavel.

OP posts:
MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:39

Yes, good one usual.

WorraLiberty · 21/11/2014 18:40

Worra I'm thinking one "mistake" is allowable, but repeat offenders should be excommunicated and exiled to the wasteland known as "WWYD".

You're far more reasonable than I.

I was thinking a spot of water boarding for the first offence and exiled to NetMums for repeat offenders.

OttiliaVonBCup · 21/11/2014 18:41

There must be a bunfight or two in the thread, possibly on an utterly unrelated subject, otherwise it's too boring.

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:42

How about:

No placemarking in juicy threads where an update is needed, particularly with
a) a full stop
b) endless "you go girl" comments, or
c) general spitting of tea and weeing of pants.

OP posts:
MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:43

Grin at worra.

usualsuspect333 · 21/11/2014 18:43

Oh yes, a nice little tiff between two posters always goes a long way to liven up a thread.

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:44

Passive aggressive smilies are to be encouraged.

usualsuspect333 · 21/11/2014 18:45

No use of the word 'hubby' is allowed, ever.

Summerisle1 · 21/11/2014 18:45

I think at least a couple of bunfights are permitted, nay welcome. Provided they are entirely unrelated. But please, no tiny violins played much further down the thread.

OttiliaVonBCup · 21/11/2014 18:46

usual now you spoiled it.
You should have called me a cuntdisagreed with me in strong terms.
Grin

SnotandBothered · 21/11/2014 18:47

YYY to Number 1 and Number 2 drives me mad "AIBU to do this?" DO WHAT???? Put it in the thread title fucker.

I'd also like to add:

  1. Clear instances of unanimous YANBU - what is the point?

For example:

I was in the post office today and the manager punched in me in the face and stole my first born child. AIBU to complain.

Yawn....

Are you having a go at me?

Sorry couldn't resist.

No bad jokes? Grin

usualsuspect333 · 21/11/2014 18:47

Fuck off, Ottilia. Are you stalking me?

like that?

OttiliaVonBCup · 21/11/2014 18:48

Now there's a nice AIBU thread.

MardyBra · 21/11/2014 18:49

"so whats your juicey topics (sic)"

  1. Parking wars. But not Parent and toddler spots.
  1. Bridezilla threads
  1. Bill splitting.
  1. MIL threads will be graded according to level of MIL intrusiveness.

Should we go to PILs for Christmas threads are not really worth of a good aibu imo.
