to think Nick Conrad (BBC Norfolk) should be gagged with his own bloody knickers

The man is pathetic, but his views are still very harmful.
Apparently a man's sexual urges are some sort of juggernaut without brakes. Turn it on, and there is nothing to be done but let it roll on to the finish. Sad and sickening.

I assumed this Nick Conrad would be some old dinosaur. He looks like a teenager. Depressing as fucking hell.

Poor men, they can't possibly control themselves. Keep those magic rape repelling knickers on ladies.

NancyRaygun · 19/11/2014 13:10

did he say it today? so I know for my complaint!

WeirdCatLady · 19/11/2014 13:12

He has a young daughter too I think. Very sad for her if this is his attitude.

squoosh · 19/11/2014 13:20

They have to sack him surely.

FreudiansSlipper · 19/11/2014 13:20

oh lordy I have just listened to this phone in Angry

He has an opinion that he wanted other callers to agree with. One caller who felt Ched had served his time and should be able to now play (which I strongly disagree with) did not agree with Nick and plainly said men know what they are doing drunk or not and if a women is not interest you do not carry on it is that simple

but no not according to Nick it is a grey area so quickly moved on to a caller (sadly a woman :( ) who agreed with him

have made a complaint his views are worrying

I am also surprised he is young I had it in my mind he was another Nick Ferrari

Did they actually give the details of the case Freudian or are all these members of the public commenting on what they think was a case of she went to bed willingly and then changed her mind?

Still abhorrent but so far away from what actually happened here.

ChimesAndCarols · 19/11/2014 14:11

The onus has to be on the men and the men have to be condemned if a woman says no and they persist then that’s absolutely abhorrent,” he added.

He also said ^^

fourwoodenchairs · 19/11/2014 14:13

I cannot tell you enough how absolutely apoplectic I am about this. I'm trying to gather my thoughts enough to give a valuable response to this instead of just leaving a verbal diarrhoea swearing fuelled rageful rant that will make me look like a twat.

WellnowImFucked · 19/11/2014 14:18

Complained,

The thing is they think that they're being edgy and seeing both sides etc when they say its a grey area.

All they doing is showing their true colours and normalising the crime of rape.

What he said was very offensive to men as well comparing them to dogs and snakes, to me that implies that men should be trained, and base animals.

just all around an idiot.

No actually, that makes him sound benign, when expressing attitudes like this is actually cancerous.

lionheart70 · 19/11/2014 14:22

Incensed by this. Have complained.

LineRunner · 19/11/2014 14:26

Ignorant wanker. And that's being polite.

SilenceOfTheSAHMs · 19/11/2014 14:39

Just complained.

Callani · 19/11/2014 14:43

“And it’s the old adage about if you yank a dog’s tale then don’t be surprised when it bites you. Or you can’t keep snakes in the garden and think they’ll only bite your neighbours.”

And then he says that it's feminists who are anti-men rather than idiotic presenters who believe men have less self control than an abused dog....

Hatespiders · 19/11/2014 14:46

He has a house in Sheringham, on the North Norfolk coast.
I can hardly believe any man (young or old) would ever say such a stupid and dangerous thing. He's almost telling men that if they're aroused, then they can go ahead with sex and it's the woman's fault for letting him get excited in the first place! Carte blanche for rape. It also denigrates men, seeing them as some form of randy animal. My dh was horrified when I just now explained what he'd said.
I bet he's drawn down a heap of hot coals on his head for this. Idiot.

ithoughtofitfirst · 19/11/2014 14:53

What a fool. Makes me laugh when twats like this lump themselves into the 'men' category as if they're the authority speaking on behalf of men everywhere. Don't kid yourself. You fucking loser.

FayKorgasm · 19/11/2014 15:07

Sadly I think there won't be much punishment for him. Racism is clearly wrong and a sackable offence but sexism is not.

Neverbuyheliumbalonz · 19/11/2014 15:08

Wowzers, have just listened to this bit. That female caller acually admitted that she didn't know much about the 'Ched, whatshisnameagain Atkins' case but still continued to plod on about how 'women must take responsibility when These things happen'.

It was highly evident that Nick Conrad didn't know the details of the case either.

Surely that in itself is just poor radio presenting - discussing a case that you have not sufficiently researched?

I am furious about this and I will be complaining later when I get the chance.

TheAlias · 19/11/2014 15:34

Yes Never, even if the BBC somehow thinks the views he expressed are acceptable, surely he should be sacked just for being incompetent. How can you host a "debate" without researching the subject?

Twuntosaur · 19/11/2014 15:48

What an absolute twat.
Complaint submitted!

Sallyingforth · 19/11/2014 15:51

Don't let your complaint stay within the BBC !

You can complain to Ofcom here:

consumers.ofcom.org.uk/complain/tv-and-radio-complaints/a-programme-I-saw-or-heard/

Twuntosaur · 19/11/2014 15:52

Yy to pp.. I complained about the shameful comments, and the "debating" without any idea of the facts behind the case was not the standard expected from the bbc.
Seriously what a tossbag.

smokepole · 19/11/2014 15:53

BBC Norfolk ! Are You Sure He is not Alan Partridge.....

Wolfbasher · 19/11/2014 15:55

I think women need to be more aware of a man’s sexual desire ...

Just read that bit again. Yes, of course, that's what the world needs to sort out the problem of rape. Greater awareness from women about men's "sexual desire". Not greater awareness from men about women's autonomy and equal right to choose whether or not to engage in sexual activity. No no no. Not that.

TheAlias · 19/11/2014 17:56

Has anyone had a response yet?

I've made a complaint about how, in addition to the widespread reports of how offensive it was, the presenter was incompetent, hosting a three hour debate without doing any research first.

I bet I get a reply referring me to his apology.
