Before I start I will say my grammar isn't perfect, and I'm not that pedantic, I just thought this was amusing!

My son in year 4 has a grammar and punctuation booklet from school and he did the first 2 pages as set for homework. There are at least three errors on it. Including

The elderly lady continued on his way

I am resisting the urge to get my red pen out

And that's just the first 2 pages!

I'd have to say something to the school to be honest

But is that what he has to correct?

No he doesn't have to correct it, just add a word in, that's just the first part of the sentence.

Maybe the missing word in this instance is 'boy'.

'The elderly lady-boy continued on his way.'

At dd's school it's actually a green pen they use for errors...

I had to laugh when my son was given some English homework to do and on the writing part you had to write a letter to "peresuade" a relative to let you to stay

Please let the teacher know but be nice! I've seen this as it is a resource from a popular website for teachers. I tried to use it with my class last year then quickly realised it was riddled with errors. Wish I'd never bothered with it in the end but first glance looked so promising! Poor teacher probably just assumed it would be carefully typed as usually resources from that site are quite good!

Cat I wouldn't be mean about it, I know the teacher so would have a laugh if I did say anything. I thought about pointing it out just so they are aware? But don't want to come across as snotty if you know what I mean!

DS had a report from a teacher saying something like:

I'd ignore a gender error tbh because they've probably lifted sentences and changed a couple quickly for sex balance or avoidance of repetition.

But my blue pencil would be twitching!

The dots are where the gap was, and then you had to choose from 4 words to put in, so it wasn't to add any extra words or to punctuation, just to put a word in the gap.
