No idea really as wouldn't think twice if it was a CofE etc and only been a few times (just curious) and there weren't any other kids. My child is 2.

Yes yabu in general they don't allow those under 18 to join services unless it's a specific event such as a naming ceremony. At least that's the attitude of the church by me. They prefer people to join when they are of an age to make their own minds up and have pretty strict rules on the involvement of children. It's a free will and understanding what you are getting into thing.

At least the one I visited, there was a medium demonstration and some hymns and also some popular songs

Have you been to this particular one before? At 2 I'd say fine if you are confident they'll be quiet but I wouldn't take an older child.

Ah Iamnotamindreader... I can understand that. Wouldn't tbh consider it if he was older but wondered if since all he'd remember was singing some songs it would be ok. Thanks!

Yes iv been before about 3 times and one time there was a boy about 7 but other times no kids at all...

I "think" he would be quiet and would just have to leave if he wasn't as wouldn't want to disturb the service...

But a relative is in shock I even considered it so thought perhaps there's a rule I don't know about...

They won't eat his soul, you know. As long as you take him out if he starts to make a fuss I can't see the dilemma.

IMO it's a shame mainstream religion doesn't adopt this attitude also.

There are no rules regarding children attending a Spiritualist church. I went to one a couple of times just out of interest and there was a baby there and some young children. When I asked I was told any child is allowed but if they become noisy or disruptive it is preferred if they are taken out of the service and go sit in the coffee room.
There seems to be confusion on the thread as to whether or not Spritualists read the Bible and believe in God. Basically some churches are Christian Spiritualist churches and some are not. I have never understood the whole Christian Spiritualist thing as the Bible teaches against consulting psychics or mediums, so how can someone who does that call themselves a Christian? Bizarre.
