Am I being unreasonable

To expect to read messages that don't contain swear words? Today was the first time I've looked at Mumsnet and was very disappointed at the result, as I was expecting a sensible discussion on subjects relevant to parenting.

Adults sometimes swear. Sometimes it's 'needed' others it's not. Personally I am not A swearer but I'm not going to get upset by non aggressive swearing.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 15/11/2014 08:32

You need NetMums. We swear here

DollyDreamboat · 15/11/2014 08:33

I love the swearing here, it makes everything more colourful Smile

Netmums is perhaps more your cup of tea, swearing isn't allowed there.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 15/11/2014 08:34

If you don't like it don't read it.

Sensible discussion on AIBU?, Grin

Fifibluebell · 15/11/2014 08:35

Maybe netmums is more for you have you tried that site I don't think they are allowed to swear over there

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 15/11/2014 08:36

very disappointed, yes head over to the other place, it might be more gentle.

TiggyD · 15/11/2014 08:38

Yes you are being incredibly unreasonable in not giving any clue in your thread title as to what your thread was about. That's the whole point of the title. If everybody in Am I Being Unreasonable just had Am I Being Unreasonable as a title, what would be the point of them?

Some adults like being able to use ALL the word in the English language. If you like censorship of expression go join those overly prissy freaks on Netmums.

formerbabe · 15/11/2014 08:42

Get your smelling salts out next time.

FayKorgasm · 15/11/2014 08:42

We are a bunch of cunts who love a good swear word. Sorry about you.

FayKorgasm · 15/11/2014 08:42

However did you know that Tiggy?

CaptainAnkles · 15/11/2014 08:44

Swearing is a valid part of language and by attempting to censor the speech of others, you are being a twathammer.

It was on Countdown the other day. Not allowed though as they had used the E twice.

Why wouldn't you expect swearing? Confused Are mums not human? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you piss us off, do we not cuss? You bet yo' ass we do. Get used to it or stay away from the internet, it's got naughty words in it.

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 15/11/2014 08:47

dances through thread throwing handfuls of fucks

VoyagesOfAStarship · 15/11/2014 08:48

The first time I looked an MN, I knew it was for me because the swearing is funny and refreshing and is how I talk in REL. It makes things more expressive and witty (when used well. not overdone). But there are loads of sites that are non-sweary and more fluffy, like netmums, so it's just a case of finding where you feel at home. I hope MN never changes in that way, because I feel at home here.

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 15/11/2014 08:48

Annie don't say prick, it's a swear Shock
