Am I being unreasonable

To expect to read messages that don't contain swear words? Today was the first time I've looked at Mumsnet and was very disappointed at the result, as I was expecting a sensible discussion on subjects relevant to parenting.

Annie may I offer you some rum biscuits? They won't fix your game but they are yummy.
Tiggy I will never forget that now. Everydays a school day.

MrsLindor · 15/11/2014 08:49

Ah bless.

FayKorgasm · 15/11/2014 08:50

catch a falling fuck and put it in your pocket never let it fade away

CaptainAnkles · 15/11/2014 08:51

I'm going to decorate my Christmas tree with glittery fucks. What a charming thought.

Whatisysystemidfor · 15/11/2014 08:52

Netmums has no swearing.

However I think you'd miss out on a lot. I've been over there a few times and the boards just don't have the discussion and depth we have here imho.

FunkyBoldRibena · 15/11/2014 08:52

It's the swearing that keeps me here. Mainly because my day job is teaching those kids that you want to have a sensible discussion about.

Me, I prefer a nonsensical discussion myself.

wanders off to catch a falling fuck

If nothing else, this thread has taught us the name for rimming a lab and also provided cake decorating tips. What is not to love??

TallulahTwinkletoes · 15/11/2014 08:53

This will end well.

trying to restrain myself from leaving a post repeating the word fuck over and over and over

PrettyPictures92 · 15/11/2014 08:53

Fuck

HTH

2andout · 15/11/2014 08:53

If it wasn't for Mumsnet I would never have learnt the phrase 'fuck off to the far side of fuck and when you get there, fuck off some more'. It has come in useful on many occasions since and I am eternally grateful to Mumsnet for being such an essential repository of handy information. Grin

If its ok for the Bayeux tapestry..

YABVVU

Why don't you start a thread on a sensible discussion relevant to parenting and stipulate no swearing? That would go down terribly well.

TiggyD · 15/11/2014 08:56

Weird font. I think it's those small aitches that ruin it.

Jolleigh · 15/11/2014 08:56

Did you see nothing of the penis beaker debate in the media? And you expected PG language about parenting only?

If swearing offends you, this really won't be your pint of gin.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 15/11/2014 08:56

Which areas of parenting were you expecting sensible discussion:

Breast v bottle
Controlled crying
BLW
Potty training.

Good luck! Grin

Sometimes we talk about doing the sex. Who'd have thunk it.

PrettyPictures92 · 15/11/2014 09:04

Fay There's sex talk on mn?!?

Will nobody think of the children?!

Fixerupperz · 15/11/2014 09:08

Grin I do hope OP comes back Grin

FayKorgasm · 15/11/2014 09:11

You have to verify that you are over 18 to access it Pretty. Sometimes the word vagina is used. Or so I've heard.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 15/11/2014 09:11

On reflection I think your best bet is to start a thread about parking. A lovely, benign subject that will not attract frothers. Perhaps throw in a school, P&C spaces for good measure?

PrettyPictures92 · 15/11/2014 09:16

Oh lordy, how in the gods good name can people talk about (whispers) lady bits?!

CaptainAnkles · 15/11/2014 09:17

Imagine if someone came in and just shouted VULVA

FayKorgasm · 15/11/2014 09:18

Folk should learn to keep their mummy flower to themselves.
