I don't usually get worked up over tv and am only watching crap tv as dh is on a late shift but I'm really shocked.
The woman is American and admits she shouts and screams to get what she wants and if that doesn't work she resorts to physical means. She is shown slapping her fiancé and putting his nuts in a "vice" between her fingers hurting him not in a serial way.
If this was a man slapping a woman I am sure it wouldn't be on. I'm fuming that they are showing this in a way that suggests it's acceptable behaviour.

If it were a man slapping a woman, this thread would have 10 pages by now.

I had to stop watching. I found myself wishing he would turn round and punch her in the face. I don't think I've ever wished something like that before.

I know that this is a zombie thread, but I just found it because I watched Bridezillas for the first time on ITV Hub (I was bored) and I felt sure the internet would be ablaze with enraged articles about this. But no. Nothing. Just this thread. The OP hit the nail on the head. It's domestic abuse as entertainment. The genders are irrelevant, showing this behavior as funny is not OK and I can't believe no-one seems bothered or even recognises it as abusive behavior. No one on the entire internet. Weird.

Most people on the show are abusive. I am sure many play up to the cameras. But how anyone thinks it's ok to act like this and make a to show out of emotional (and sometimes physical) abuse is beyond me. Disgusting.

The only one I ever watched was when the groom did a runner just before the wedding. I was cheering him on! He had clearly dodged a massive bullet.
