I've had three playground acquaintances bug me about it in as many days.
You know the type - the casual "I had X problem, then discovered aloe vera. It's a miracle cure.... anyway, did you mention your DS has eczema... have you heard our company can pretty much cure that...?".
It's giving me the rage.
Anyone else?

But it can cure cancer and probably Ebola as well...why would you not try it?

No, thankfully Aloe Vera pyramid schemes seem to have died down here...though weird juice diets are now doing the rounds instead.

I think its forever living products, I had the misfortune to attend one of their parties once, it's like a cult!

I had LVL Lashes done in June by a woman who lives quite near me. She did a good job of them, but during the appointment (about an hour) she was constantly trying to recruit me to this Forever Living caper. She said that she only did LVL Lashes to "widen her network" of potential victims recruits, and hoped to be able to give up her full time job as well as the LVL Lashes very soon

I contacted her in September about getting my lashes done again, but she said she wasn't doing them any more. "Oh well, good for her," thought I, "she's obviously raking it in from the FL thing and is making the thousands per month that she predicted." The following day I got a text message from her asking for my email address, so she could send me a missive that she wanted me to forward on to my friends in case they would be interested in selling the gunk! Basically asking me to do her dirty work for no reward! Er, I don't think so love.

JuicePlus is another one doing the rounds, and there's a guy on my Facebook who has just started an organic coffee one. He's very close to being deleted...

I have someone trying to 'sell' me it on Facebook every bloody day. And barely a week goes by when someone doesn't try and get me to sell the damn stuff myself. It got worse when I offhandedly made a comment on FB about me working in sales - I got 3 messages in a day. A DAY!!

I drink Aloe Vera for my Ulcerative Colitis.

No blood in it though...........

OMG. It is EVERYWHERE at the moment. What's a bit is it's people who I otherwise thought were quite sane and normal.

It's aloe. I'm prepared to accept it will make my hands smell nice when I wash them, but cure for Every Single Thing in the Whole Wide World it is not!

I seems to go round the country in waves like some sort of virus.

It's died down in our village now, thank goodness, but a few Facebook friends from other areas are trying to push it now.

I have quite a few friends with serious disabilities and I hate the fact that they are being sold this snake oil with false promises of improvements to their quality of life

If it really did what it is claimed it does, the NHS would be buying it by the tanker load!

Aloe Vera is a lovely substance and it does help with many ailments. It won't "cure" autism or cancer though! DS had autism and DM is a cancer patient. It might help with her scarrlng and digestion so I gave her some.

However, I'd never get it from a pyramid scheme like FL. The direct marketing is offensive and immoral IMO.

Only one person has ever tried it with me, I pointed them in the direction of my triffid Aloe Vera plant and they piped down a bit
Also being Pagan I have learnt many many 'woo' buzzwords from my rather large collection of books so I may have also blinded them with a bit of woo-ness...
They're still selling it but oddly enough avoid me while they're trotting out the spiel!!

I've managed to avoid it so far but one of my old college friends posted a picture of their 'new business' starter pack on Instagram the other day and I've just realised what it is! If she tries to sell anything to me I'm going to tell her to F off.

It's a pyramid scam that thankfully is on its arse due to market saturation/shit quality. I feel sorry for some of the sellers. They started it all excited posting inspirational quotes about being entrepreneurs and now try and flog a garage full of snake oil for a tenner. Some are dicks though who I have seen at douglas macmillan coffee morning's flogging their wares

My dad propagates the damned plants on the kitchen window. He is always offering them to me. They grow like triffids and fall over all the time.

I like Aloe vera gel for sunburn. It feels really nice and cool, but does not cure it - once you have burnt yourself, you have burnt yourself and it needs to mend. It is ok from H&B, but I would prefer MrsAlexander's handsome young man ..........

Yes, a couple of months ago I went to a coffee morning where a woman was trying to peddle aloe vera stuff.

She claimed it had cured her of everything from PMT to verrucas, and it had cured her dog's arthritis. Nobody bought a thing, and thankfully nobody signed up for a 'home trial'.

It's dying down a bit here now. But still see adverts on selling sites "want to work from home, earn a million and still make sports day" I'll pm you...
