Romeo Beckham gets £45 grand for a days work.

How much does this family need. Burberry have paid 12 year old Romeo £45.000 for one days work modeling. I don't wear Burberry myself but if I did that would probably put me off ever buying it again. How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though. But isn't there something wrong when a 12 year old gets in one day what it might take most of us a year or two to earn?

Evening all. Just a reminder of peace'n'love whilst I pass round the Wine Chateuneuf-du-Pape 2010 .

@HaroldLloyd

Wonder what Peter Andre got for the Iceland ad?

45 quid and a free prawn ring?

Money attracts money, tis the way of the world. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and Peter Andre gets oranger.

Cheers to HaroldLloyd for making us Grin and peace to all Thanks

Catsarebastards - you seem to have missed the point that this is a thread about their son "working" for £45,000 for a day. It is not about the adults and their earnings

Really?

First line of the opening post
How much does this family need.

Fourth line of the opening post
How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though.

Along with various other references by the OP throughout the thread to them not needing the money and 'their greed'.

It was very clearly from the first line that this was about OP's issue with this family making more money.

Carriemac · 13/11/2014 22:32

Why is it stupid? She clearly has an eating disorder and she allows her child , who does not need the money, to model? And complains about paparazzi taking photos of the kids? Buts it's ok to sell photos of a 12 year old? Warped values.

Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 22:34

Even the title makes it clear what this is about. No outrage at a child being exploited or child modelling. The outrage is for the sum of money paid for 'a days work'. It is clear OP is objecting to the pay:work ratio.

Carriemac · 13/11/2014 22:36

And she admits her eating disorder.

I just find the Beckhams quite dull tbh. They don't anger me like katona et al mind

Hardly up to date, Carrie, if that was the most recent relevant article you could find. It was dated 2001 - 13 years ago.

cleanmachine · 13/11/2014 22:45

I don't think her eating habits have anything to do with it.

However, I know someone who used to work for the family and I've been told that the family is on a massive global campaign to raise the profile of the kids. This is very obvious as the boys have been in various ad campaigns and mags over the last few years. VB is very very keen to capitalise. Its not really about the money at this point. Its just about getting the kids out there and making them famous. Its sad really.

Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 22:45

Cats A child being exploited? so you think £45 grand is being exploited . Wow.

OP posts:
Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 23:00

Polly try reading posts properly.

mintyy said "It is about their son who is a child being exploited (broadest sense) for the maximum amount of money." About your thread. She said this is what you are saying in this thread.

I responded with "Even the title makes it clear what this is about. No outrage at a child being exploited or child modelling"

And clearly i am right, you are not posting about a child being exploited.

Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 23:02

OP are you saying you think the beckhams should stop working now? At what point do you think they should have stopped? What is the figure you think crosses over into just working for greed?

Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 23:03

I really do wish I hadn't used the opening thread " How much do this family really need". because it appears to have upset certain people for some reason. Unlike in real life you can't take it back and many have jumped on it to have a good argument. What I was trying to convey was simply....here is a typical example of what I think is wrong with the world. A 12 year old gets £45 grand for a days work because of the famous name. I would have said exactly the same if it had been the child of Paul McCartney or someone equally rich. Because I spoke about the Beckhams(because it was in the news) the thread has been sidetracked into all about them.
That should really be a separate thread. Its pretty obvious there are some who just love to tear your posts apart and argue. Bit of playground bullying mentality seems to have reared it's ugly head too.

OP posts:
Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 23:08

That's because a child hasn't been exploited.

OP posts:
PunkrockerGirl · 13/11/2014 23:10

But you are clearly au fait with every aspect of their lives without me having to bother with Google. The amount of hours time you spending contributing to this thread is just smacking of desperation now.

Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 23:10

Oh please don't call it work, both the Beckhams are busy amassing money, they don't work in the actual sense of the word.

OP posts:
Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 23:11

I know that! Tell mintyy that. She is the one who is saying that you are posting because you think a child is being exploited.

Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 23:14

What is your definition of work OP?

Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 23:14

Its my thread, I'd say the ones such as catsarebastards who won't let it go are the desparate ones. Believe me I want to let it go but I keep getting insulted and misunderstood. I'm just responding to that. You didn't have to come on at this stage though did you, you must want to keep it going.

OP posts:
Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 23:19

Its very easy to let it go if you wanted to OP. you just dont come back on the thread. The thread will be fine without you, you know.

Catsarebastards · 13/11/2014 23:20

And why am i still here? Well i'm still waiting for you to answer even just one of my questions.

SuperWifeANDMum · 13/11/2014 23:20

I haven't read the thread however YABU

Christopher Bailey is a personal friend of David and Victoria. Having Romeo appear in another one of their ad campaigns is highly lucrative as Burberry is splashed across news outlets that wouldn't bat an eyelid at their previous campaigns.

£45k is a drop in the ocean to how much revenue Burberry will make this year. Romeo is worth every penny in a business sense and he looks just darling in the ad campaign.

Pollyteacakes · 13/11/2014 23:22

No cats, I won't define work, I really can't be bothered, just suffice to say it's not what VB does. Did she actually go to college for 4 or 5 years to study design? No I thought not.

OP posts:
PunkrockerGirl · 13/11/2014 23:25

You don't have to keep posting either. You can leave/hide thread whenever you wish. Just because you are the OP, doesn't mean you have to keep going to the bitter end -especially when you've changed your mind and been discredited so often throughout the thread--
