woman at work keeps farting

I know this might sound stupid but the smell is horrific, like egg, and it's really putting me off being in the office especially when eating. It's a small windowless room and it is very smelly as obviously there's nowhere for smell to go.

AIBU to pass this up OR will I just be laughed at?

surely that is breaking the law! You cannot sack someone for needing a colostomy bag?!?!

What terrible entitlement there is in the world (and on this thread).

whois · 12/11/2014 08:23

Suggest a course of Actively probiotic yoghurt drinks (always sorts me out)

Ah the power of placebo. You know the science behind those has been debunked and thy now can't additive about their bullshittium properties?

arty farty went to a party, All the farts were there, tuity fruity let of a beauty, so they all ran out for air.

user1468769430 · 01/10/2016 15:37

A trump is but a sigh of wind coming from the heart, but if it takes a downward course it then becomes a fart, it gives the person pleasure and gives the bowel ease, it warms and heats the blankets and suffocates the fleas.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 01/10/2016 15:39

So you reactivated a two year old thread to post your unfunny fart poems?

Okay then... Hmm

user1468769430 · 01/10/2016 15:45

yes.

jessica11054 · 01/10/2016 21:44

PikachuSayBoo · 01/10/2016 21:52

MillionToOneChances · 01/10/2016 21:52

Oops, didn't notice it was a zombie thread Blush

PikachuSayBoo · 01/10/2016 21:53

"She really should be able to control it. Or at least leave the room."

I cannot stop myself farting and neither can many people. Can't leave the room on a bad day either as I would be in the toilet all afternoon. Only solution is for colleague to have her own office.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/10/2016 00:53

"What does she say when you comment?
I assume you have commented.
If not why not??"

Because to comment would make her colleague feel shit. Someone commented to me once. It was more than 5 years ago and I'm still upset about it. It's the kind of thing that many men could laugh off, but most women would be mortified.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/10/2016 00:57

"Maybe she can't smell it and thinks if they're silent nobody is noticing them?"

I never know if other people can smell mine.

EmilySunshine · 02/10/2016 01:33

poor woman. how awful for her. i bet she is well aware of her problem and must be praying nobody comments on it. work must be a nightmare for her. you could mention to your boss about lack of ventilation and say that stuffy offices are a breeding ground for cold and flu germs and if he wants to minimise sick days then maybe better ventilation would help? but whatever you do, don't joke about the woman's problem in front of her like some posters are suggesting. that would be mean and possibly could count as ableism (if her problem is a medical issue)

summerainbow · 02/10/2016 05:02

Buy smelly fresh flowers for your desk and smell them when it gets bad.

Rachel0Greep · 02/10/2016 05:08

Zombie thread...

scarednoob · 02/10/2016 07:09

Zombie farts!

Fluffsnuts · 02/10/2016 08:55

This thread has actually really upset me.

I'm due to go back to work soon after mat leave and due to birth injury I can hardly hold my wee in, let alone darts- they escape frequently and loudly and there is nothing I can do about it. I also have ibs meaning my darts are generally more frequent and smelly Blush. I know it's horrible, I hate it and it already really upsets me and to think colleagues may talk about it behind my back IRL or on the internet makes me feel sick.

So for the sake of your colleague, please be more understanding.
