Dh doesn't believe it's worth having a flu jab. I've booked kids in to have it in morn. I'm at a gym class . He's just said he won't take them. I'm mad . Should I be??

He's not your PA. You want them to have the jab, cancel your class and take them.

YANBU but I'd just skip gym class and get on with it. You also need to talk to dp and see why he doesn't want them to get it. Bad experience? Worried about it for some reason? Or can he just not be bothered? Is he like this with other things or is it just this? If the just can't be bothered I'd be more upset.

He believes their are different types of flu so no guarantees , I've said each year they change the jab to the most common. It's not he can't be ared that he thinks it's unnessacery . Of course il take them myself but annoyed he won't do me that favour when he has fuck all to do

Altinkum is the take-up for the flu shots and spray enough to get herd immunity? I thought the numbers had to be quite high?

Poor bugger Altinkum. I'm all in favour of people having a different schedule if they have allergies or whatever. DD is on a modified schedule because she reacted last time.

OP, if your DH thinks it's unnecessary, would he be in charge of everything (childcare, overnights, medical appointments, laundry) if they do get the flu?

No I'm a sahm, it would be with the kids. When they get a cold it's miserable enough

When I worked at SS, they offered us a fly jab and if we didn't choose to take it, our sick days for flu were unpaid. I'm not sure I like that but it works for your DH, surely. If they get flu, he is in charge. Especially overnight.

Surely it should be a joint decision? Maybe he's more annoyed that you went ahead and booked them in without consulting him? A lot of people don't bother with the flu jab for their kids, that doesn't make them right or wrong.

But he is the children's parent, so should be prioritising what's best for them. If he has good reason to actively not want them to have it then that is one thing, but not bothering because there are no guarantees seems silly, especially since there are children like Altinkum's kids who rely on others reducing their chances of getting it.

If they had an appointment free today I would of took them . Tomorrow is the earliest appointment they had , unfortunate it coincides with my gym class . That's my bit of me time. It's more the fact that we are on different wave lengths that's worrying me

The PA comment was ridiculous . The nhs is hardly flush but the offer these jabs. To me that says plenty

Sorry YABU. If you think it's so important do it yourself. I happen to agree with your dh and I would have told my dh to take the kids to the Dr to get it if he felt so bloody strongly about it.

I think you really need to find out if his main issue is he can't be arsed to take them, but would have no problems if you took them next week whilst he's working, or if he has an issue with the actual vaccination.

Each to their own but I didn't vaccinate mine against flu. But they aren't immune compromised.
