I do sometimes refer to myself to DM as "your first born love child" as she once told.me thats what she thought of me as. Usually it's only if Im trying to talk her into cooking a Sunday Roast or something though. Never seriously.

I sometimes refer to my children as No1 son/daughter and best daughter/son in the whole wide world. But only in private and with the expectation of either a highly sarcastic response or something similarly soppy back (like I say only in private!). dd generally points out that she is my only daughter, but also tells me that it is important to feed her ego, so to keep them coming (she is 14 and not always the most polite child ).

Oh, and she has just told me that your ds saying that is 'totally awesome'.

Come back OP!....we need to know how old and it what context...When one of mine says' its not fair,you never let me stay out that late/let me have parties...etc'...I say... 'well yes but that's cos I love them much more than I love you!'...obviously I would never have said it when they were younger but now as adults I just get the 'look'...And I have a favourite eldest son, youngest son and a favourite DD!
