Surround yourself with excellent staff. Mine are brilliant. I didn't have much idea about interviewing staff so I found an experienced interviewer to help me, asking questions and giving her own opinion about whom to hire.

Good staff makes it do much less daunting.

Keep your boundaries tight.

No socialising particularly not individually. Christmas doo, leaving doo show your face but don't get pissed.

Do t bitch, gossip even if you think you really trust someone.

Be approachable, smiley, leave problems at home and have the same temperament every day, regardless of how you feel

Have clear guidelines of your expectations for staff

Have a flexible approach, acknowledge that staff do have a life outside work and at times need to take a couple of hours leave for whatever.

Manage your cash flow, keep very involved with getting paid for work completed, also ensure invoicing is speedy and correct.
