Anyone here a Goth in a past life?
I am watching the BBC four programme with all the goth stuff and it's made me really regret that I have few photos (and coherent memories) of my time as a student in Manchester and then at the Square Club in Cardiff.

Did you have a local Goth club, got any pictures or memories?

Had anyone mentioned The Venue? Another indie/goth haunt. Thread bringing great memories.
Not goth but did anyone go the the PSV/Caribbean club??

I was a goth in Norfolk so no goth clubs for us.
We spent our time invading pubsand hanging out in graveyards and house parties
I have just watched goth ATV he BBC and was very disappointed by the selection on offer.
I could have done so much better

I did try and shake off the goth look and flirted with navy blue for a while but I'm embracing my gothness again( it never went away it was just submerged for a bit)
I couldn't resist. I'm goth to the very soul :)
I have seen many bands live the cure the cult theission the banshees placebo Gary nu man killing joke. Hell ive even seen the misfits they were not good
I have been enjoying the series the cart of Gothic but the offering last night was not as good as it could have been

I went to the Venue every Friday and Saturday for years. Also Ritz Monday nights and Hacienda Thursdays. Went to PSV in Hulme? a couple of times. The Ritz was 50p on the door and a voucher for a bottle of Pils. Happy days...

Tea I forgot about the free pils! Were you at the Hacienda on the infamous Dollar night??

Gosh yes the venue we sometimes went to 42 and street on a tuesday rock world for a penny on a Thursday and the all nighter.we went to a terrible club can't remember the name it had a mural of a carribean scene on the wall because it was nurses night on a Thursday and we were all student nurses

No it wasn't called the carribean club it just had a big mural the music was quite mainstream but loads of. Nurses went on a Thursday I think the drinks were cheap., it was very dodgy its annoying me now oh what's the name .

Ahhhhh, Spiders, best club ever. Cheap curry and chips, a pint of cocktail for £2.40 and walking home with the smell from the chocolate factory in the air.
Someone at my uni dressed like Robert Smith, same clothes every single day. Either he had a LOT of moth-eaten baggy jumpers and cure t-shirts or he stank.
My favourite was always fields of the nephilim, Carl McCoy was lovely

x2boys you have described my nights out early nighties to a T...Grand Central / Subway then Jillys / Rockworld on a Thursday...Ritz on a Mon / Wednesday. Diamond White with a straw for me (coz I'm a classy lady ).
Went to The Banshee a couple of times only....remember it being very dark

The subway always had a different drinks promotion it had tequila night,vodka night ,bottles for a pound. Night I remember my friend had 22'shots of tequila one night god she was ill !

Wow, the memories. Ritz on a Monday, Salisbury followed by Jillys/Rockworld for the "all nighter" on Friday (or was it Saturday). Have also been to Rock City in Nottingham. Great places to meet unsuitable men who are prettier than you! Still in touch with a couple of friends from those days. We are all boring old farts now.
