To want to be able to buy a simple navy coat in October for a reasonable price for dd?

I really like a Next one a friend bought her daughter last year.

Why is there so little choice in school friendly coats?

Why don't they make more so they could sell more?

I mean, people need to buy coats in the winter don't they?

The only ones I can find that are plain and nice are £90. The next one was really smart and much less than that.

harrumph... why don't I buy coats when they ARE available... hmmm when is that?

I got one in m and s for my dd, £24, she is 4. Depends on your taste and her age I guess! I bought it in August mind, lovely and warm now.

I usually buy my DCs coats from Landsend - usually in the sale, plus there are often discounts available (25% off everything including sale items at the moment).

depending in her age Mothercare have a gorgeous navy coat with hood and a couple of duffle tags on it for £26. we have just bought it for dd to grow into as the weather gets cold but not sure what size it went up to as we got 18-24 months.

How old is she? There's a Debenhams sale on right now, they've got a Bluezoo navy parker for £28 up to age 9-10, or a Regatta parker for £37 up to age 11-12, and 32 inch and 34.

she's 6...
: (

She has an anorak style jacket/coat but I want to get her something warmer and longer.

It's still quite expensive but mayoral have a navy puffa for £50 and the quality is brilliant, will last next winter too. I just wish they had it in my size!!

Ah that's good queenceleste :)

I got very similar to the Bluezoo parka in Gap last year. Agree it's difficult. John Lewis discounted loads of plain school-suitable coats after Xmas last year so it pays to buy ahead for the next season.
