To wonder just how greasy your hair has to be

To leave these hideously disgusting smeary patches of horrid on the bus windows.

I don't usually travel by bus but I've visited a couple of parts of london for the first time recently. I love nosing looking at the lovely houses and inside of you haven't shut your curtains but seriously. The grease!! It's awful. Who does this? Why?

You're assuming it's hair rather than hands?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 26/10/2014 13:33

How do you know it's hair?

Mrsmorton · 26/10/2014 13:34

It has like a hair sort of texture to it. The nose/ hands ones look different.

Think textured wallpaper, only hairy glass grease.

Probably hair gel then.

WorraLiberty · 26/10/2014 13:36

I travel everywhere by bus and I've never considered it to be hair marks

Most likely people wiping the windows with their hands and then it steaming up/clearing again.

It probably explains the textured look.

TeaAndALemonTart · 26/10/2014 13:38

Maybe it's saliva?

Mrsmorton · 26/10/2014 13:41

Hmm as an oral health professional, my considered opinion is that it's not saliva.

No steamed up windows yet, it's balmy here and has been since early September!!

Must be hair gel. It's still pretty rank though. Sometimes it's got bits in it.

I think it's from all those guys with gelled hair.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 26/10/2014 14:37

yes to hair gel or just face grease, I am aghast at how horrid my phone looks after I have it up against my make upped face, looks all greased up and nasty. perhaps that's just me though Blush

DomiKatetrixortreat · 26/10/2014 14:43

Not just you StepAway I hate the foundation smears after a phone call Envy

Annarose2014 · 26/10/2014 14:55

I remember going with my Uncle to check out his rental house after his tenant moved out.

He gestured in horror to a grey tweed armchair with a leather headrest. Except when I looked closer I realised it wasn't meant to be leathery - it was a glossy black shellac of grease from her hair!

StarlingMurmuration · 26/10/2014 14:58

I've seen this on train and bus windows, and always ass,ed its from greasy hair... It's clearly from hair, not from noses or hands. But it could be gel. Either way, it's gross and really gets in the way of looking through people's windows.

StarlingMurmuration · 26/10/2014 14:59

Ass,ed its = assumed it's

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 26/10/2014 15:11

domikate phew though I might just be an exceptional minger Smile

MrsTerrorPratchett · 26/10/2014 15:19

Antimacassars are the answer. Out GPs knew and we forgot. Also I would quite like to start using the word again.

MrsTerrorPratchett · 26/10/2014 15:19

Our GPs!

dalekanium · 26/10/2014 15:24

Dh is bald. He leaves weird circular head marks on our glossy kitchen cupboards where he rests his head on the doors.

Yuk

Jolleigh · 26/10/2014 16:10

It's probably from styling wax.

DreamsOfFreddieInTheNight · 26/10/2014 17:51

Why does he rest his head on your cupboard doors...?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/10/2014 17:54

Another one doubting it is hair grease - more likely to be some sort of non-setting hair product. Still gives me the boak.

BertieBotts · 26/10/2014 17:56

I think it's hair spray, gel or similar. Not grease.

dalekanium · 08/11/2014 18:43

dreams

Yep!

windchime · 08/11/2014 19:31

People are just dirty. You only have work a day in A&E to realise that.
