After I saw him spit in his girlfriends face .

I heard shouting so looked out and saw him storming up the road followed by a young woman who was crying and pleading with him. He turned back and stormed back at her, I thought he was going to hit her but instead he stopped, stared at her and then spat full in her face. I absolutely bellowed out of the window "you abusive ARSEHOLE!" At which he sped up and almost ran off down the street. She followed him . I couldn't go after her as I am here in the house alone with three children.

Just shocked really, wish I could have done more.

What a wanker, you did right op, sadly it may take her some time to realise that :(

We've called the police before now when we've had an abusive argument happening outside the house. The police came quickly. One talked to the girl and checked all was ok, the other talked to the guy and calmed him down. They also made sure they watched the girl walk one way to her home and the guy go a different way to his home.

Another time, I was driving past a couple who had a strange body language going on - it was only when I was level with them (driving at the 50mph limit) that I realised that he was throttling her. I debated turning round to do something (I think that as soon as they realise that they aren't doing this unobserved that they stop) but happily I saw that another passerby (a pedestrian) was calling out to them to stop.

In Brighton once we saw a couple arguing and DP said to me "theres something off about that", as we got closer the man punched the woman full in the face!
DP ran over and tried to grab the guy (so proud of him!) but he ran off.
The woman had blood all over her face and was in a terrible state.
We called the police and they came very quickly. One of the officers said to us "If only more people called the police when they witnessed DV in the streets, we would catch so many more of these violent men"

Definitely report it, especially if you can trust your self that you would do the same if you saw her spit in his face.

I am guessing you dont know where they went but I would report it. It is assault and perhaps he got more abusive at home, someone overhears and police are called, she refuses to give a statement and they can't do anything.

If you report what you have seen with descriptions that match they might be able to take some action.

Or perhaps it will support her statement, I'm just saying even if it feels like very little it might mean the world.

I've reported it and they were actually very interested and took a lot of detail, was worried they might be dismissive. They've got cars in the area (busy part of London) and will keep a look out. Sure nothing will come of it but at least they're aware.

better than welsh police who do not give a fuck.

Our Welsh police were spot on, quick to respond and great at sorting the problem.

I wonder if we are in the same region.
