Need some inspiration ladies.

Need healthy ideas as currently DS is getting the same old lunch day in day out (with variations of fruit / veg / sandwich filling / type of bread)

Depending on who has him some days he will have a warm lunch but for the past week and next few weeks he is going to be needing a packed lunch.

I realise it's not technically an AIBU, but hope you can help.

The variations sound fine. I can't see how he's getting the same old lunch day in and day out?

Is he happy to eat it?

I make batches of savoury muffins, frittata, or 'bites' - mashed broccoli, eggs, breadcrumbs baked in little cakes, or spinach, potato and cheese. Loads of ideas for these and sugar free cake options on a lovely blog called Mamacook.

Would he have something in a flask, like soup?

Pasta salad.

Cocktail sausages - not healthy!

Cous cous & roasted veg
pasta salad
bulgar wheat with feta & chopped tomato/cucumber/peppers
Pitta, houmous, carrot batons, cherry tomatoes

My DS is not keen on sandwiches but will oddly tuck into a deconstructed sandwich i.e. Boiled egg left whole, cherry tomatoes, cucumber batons & a slice of bread.

Mine eat the same types of things everyday for lunch - sandwiches, wraps or rolls - ham/cheese/tuna/egg mayo or leftover sliced roast. Various salad sticks, and fruit. Yoghurt and a treat - the treat could be a cake/biscuit/choc bar/crisps. Sometimes they'll take Cous Cous or a boiled egg and a smaller sandwich.

I think it's easy to get hung up on variety- mine eat the same kinds of things every day but other than the salad (usually carrot, cucumber and pepper sticks) the rest of their lunch is different daily, with different sandwich fillings, fruit, yoghurt flavour and treat.

I agree about how easy it is to get hung up on lunches

It's only one light meal out of 3 per day.

I changed the type of lunch box my DD took to school for one with little compartments, it just leant itself to a more interesting approach eg cheese cubes in one, croutons in another, carrot sticks in another, oatcakes, choc biscuit or whatever. Seems to suit Dd much better.
