This thread is old now, so some of the suggestions are out of date, but we’ve very recently refreshed our best slow cooker page with plenty advice on choosing the right one for your family. We hope you find the guide useful.

No idea, but I wouldn't be impressed with that present tbh

OraProNobis · 24/10/2014 10:12

I'd love it and my DH wouldn't mind either. Our Cuisinart slow cooker has just died after 15 years - I particularly liked this one because it's not the traditional round shape so you can easily fit for e.g a whole chicken or leg of lamb in it.

NaiceNickname · 24/10/2014 10:12

Not sure, I love to cook and clean obsessively but I think I'd be a bit Hmm if DH bought me a steam mop or a slow cooker, unless I had asked for one. But maybe I'm just an ungrateful caaah Grin

Ha, he did quite like the Le Creuset casserole last year (fits whole chicken)

I wouldn't be impressed with a slow cooker and I love mine but would be impressed with the one that does more than just slow cooks

I have bought him beard care stuff instead. Oh dear, middle class/hipster dilemmas!

eyes up slow cookers anyway

The year my husband bought me a wok has gone down in history. Buy people things they WANT for presents, not things the house needs.

angeltreats · 24/10/2014 11:51

My husband once bought me a beater blade and a mincer attachment for my Kenwood Chef "from Santa". I was delighted. Not everyone's idea of the perfect present though I guess! Making cakes is my hobby and I really wanted to try making sausages so it wasn't stuff we needed for the house.
