AIBU to think fireworks should not STILL be going off this late?

Perhaps I am?

it's almost 11pm and fireworks are still going off on a Thursday night (schoolnight?)

Tbh I could probably sleep through them. Just feel it's perhaps rude. Is there a firework etiquette?

It's not even the same person...

Someone posted on the other thread they are allowed until 1am. Hopefully they will stop before then.

LaurieFairyCake · 23/10/2014 22:51

It's Diwali so their big festival like our New Year Smile

Troublesometrucker · 23/10/2014 22:54

Apologies. I didn't know there was another thread.

Diwali explains it. I feel a bit less peed off about it now.

Thanks!

It's not like it's every night though, eh?

Don't let yourself get wound up by it, just enjoy.

Fenton · 23/10/2014 22:59

Just occurred to me, spare a thought for everyone living within 5 miles of Disney, - every night, 365 days a year!

You gotta love a firework right?

Troublesometrucker · 23/10/2014 23:00

I actually thought people had just started now ready for the 5th Nov... didn't realise it was Diwali.

I shamefully did think it was going to be every night until the 5th and a bit beyond...

And thought my locals were very rude and inconsiderate too! Blush

Ah is that why? I noticed fireworks earlier on and thought maybe we had just reached the timeframe when supermarkets start stocking them ready for Nov 5th.

icclemunchy · 23/10/2014 23:21

They were still going at 2am yesterday and are going strong still now Hmm we live right on the edge of an area in London which has a massive Indian/ Hindu population so it sounds a bit like world war 3 out there. Some of the bangs are rediiculius

Troublesometrucker · 23/10/2014 23:31

iccle... I literally dived like I was in iraq with the first bang of the night...followed by running to the balcony to see what had exploded/if a car had crashed...

took a while to marry up the colours in the sky with the noise there were a few THAT loud early on this evening.

We live in a flat so never had the chance to buy fireworks myself - can you buy Xtra loud?

There is no chance of living within 5 miles of Disney. The parks area is approx the size of Boston (in the US, not Lincolnshire!)

Fenton · 24/10/2014 07:52

Okay if you're going to split hairs I stayed in Kissimmee which was about 15mins from the parks, I could hear the fire works from there.

I also saw the trail of something taking off from Cape Canaveral, that was something else Shock

WicketWoo · 24/10/2014 08:26

Hi Fenton. I'm genuinely surprised you could hear them in Kissimmee. We stay on site and struggle to see them unless we're in Bay Lake Tower. Have to say, fireworks in the UK hold no appeal for me post Disney!
